With the ever increasing price of a North American Sheep hunt, where are the best values internationally?

Anybody here considering Russia, the Tur and sheep are good value options. I’ve heard Americans are going in limited numbers but don’t know any first hand
Americans and Europeans still hunting in Russia, risk is always everywhere. Many times media is manipulated I travelled to Rusia and Belarus 4 times this year and always was perfect. Now is good moment because less foreigners hunters are going due to this and prices are cheaper. The people there is awesome and very friendly and polite they will help you with everything, I will continue going there.

I'm kinda late to the post & see a lot has been covered. I was lucky enough to have gotten into the "sheep game" way back in 1998 & international sheep/goat hunts in 2007. The international travel experience is hard to beat for the price. There is extra expense getting them back home & travel.
Ibex are cool animals you have to earn on hunts & have a wide diversity of places to hunt. Mountains, deserts & even a Greek island. Every one I've been on has been a great adventure.
The tar & chamois of New Zealand is a great place to start. Just be sure to tell your outfitter exactly what you want from the hunt. I spent 5 days hunting out of a tent for both of my trophies.
Spanish ibex are great hunts & easy to take wives along. Most are affordable as long as you don't want to hunt the upper medal class animals.
The little chamois are fun to hunt & a great value. Don't overlook this little mountain goat. I just returned from Romania and a very challenging Carpathian chamois hunt. I know they don't have the same "cool" factor as ibex but are still a good adventure.
International sheep hunts can vary a lot in prices. Big difference between a Kyrgistan Hume(MP) hunt ($20-30k) and a Mongolian Altai hunt ($150-350k). European mouflon can be found all over & are very reasonable in price but most often are not a difficult hunt.
Tur are one of my favorite animals to hunt! Azerbaijan is closed right now but the Eastern (Dagestan) tur can still be hunted in Russia, along with the Western and mid-Caucasian tur. I've known several hunters that have traveled to Russia the past couple years without troubles. I have an ibex trip scheduled for 2025.

Have you hunted Russia for Tur and what ibex hunt do you have up next?

I've hunted eastern (Dagestan) in Osetia Russia & in Azerbaijan along with 2 mid-caucasan and 1 western tur. All great hunts!
Next is a Pamir ibex in Tyjik :)
I was out there last year and had a grand adventure! I did a recap here if you’re interested.
What were the differences in those two hunts for the Dagestan Tur? I ask because I’ve only seen videos and exceptional specimens coming from Azerbaijan, additionally I want to test my metal in those steep mountains.

Azerbaijan has more tur & better trophy quality but was 40% more cost. There has been some new areas opened in Russia for Dagestan that have better quality since then. Prices have increased also to be in par with Azer.

Going to be going to Europe next year and may hunt a Mouflon. Has anyone here shot a Gold Mouflon? is it worth paying the premium over a representative Bronze/Silver?

My opinion will be go for bronce medal mouflon, that would be a mature animal, the difference with the gold medal the money that you save you can use for a representative ibex per example. This will be my plan

A Mouflon, Ibex and Chamois combo sounds like it would make for a great hunt.

Here's an example of a Bronze Iberian Mouflon:

Anyone who has hunted tur in Russia recently care to share their experience? Dagestan tur is at the top of my list and dont want to wait for something that may or may not happen or too many years pass and my knees are that much older!

I’ve been thinking the same thing, sure hope Azerbaijan opens again. I “hear” there’s been issues in camps and it’s I’ll advised.

I just return from an ibex/chamois hunt from Russia. Everything went extremely smooth getting rifles through customs & had no problem. It just takes time and need to have the right paperwork. It’s a must to have the right outfitter there to help through the process. Absolutely no way you can get through it yourself.
The hunt went great with three hunters, taking Ibex the first day all very respectable older age class trophies. My buddy shot his chamois on the second day a very nice nine-year-old..
We had put this hunt off for several years because of the conflict and I’ve known several people hunting there with no issues. There was absolutely no sign a war was happening. Plenty of tourists & business as usual.
Tur hunts are my favorite of all mountain hunts. The Dagestan hunts are closed in Azerbaijan & North Osetia (where I took my first) but are open in the Dagestan region of Russia boarding AZ. My outfitter says there have had great luck on good trophies.
I’ve secured a Sayan ibex & Kuban tur hunt for the Washington WSF banquet auction in March. I wouldn’t consider these donations unless I was 100% confident in the safety of travel.
My buddy & I are booked back next year for snow sheep.

Love to hear it congrats, would you mind sharing your outfitter? A DM works if you don’t want to make it too public.
