Just wanted to spotlight a product that I’ve been overall very impressed with.
Winter hiking can be a challenge to keep your feet comfortable. Non-insulated boots typically are too cold, insulated boots can cause your feet to sweat over miles of hiking, resulting in cold feet when you hit your destination.

Oboz has an insulated insole that nearly matches the same size and feel of your typical aftermarket insole. I don’t know the details of their construction, all I know it works!
Seems to be a standard insole with some sort of aluminum thermal barrier on the bottom. I’ve spent this winter hiking around in snow, chopping wood for hours and my feet are loving this insole.

I installed the Oboz thermal insoles in my non-insulated hanwag alverstones. Great boot for the snow but would typically get cold feet at some point with my stock insoles. No longer an issue!

I’m now moving the thermal insoles to the more breathable crispi Colorados to see how they handle the cold temps. I’m hiking multiple days per week in snow pack with 40lbs on my back. After a month of real world experience in the Colorados, i will update this post.
