Winter Range buck pics! lets see some!

Here is an ok buck from a few years ago. Idaho buck, He was rutting in late December. As you can see, he was in a bachelor group, but was really interested in a doe nearby. The other bucks just let him do his thing and didn't show much interest in her. Either he was king breeder, or she was ugly, not sure which.

Here is another one. I found this buck in a general season Idaho unit that has lots of roads. It was a windy day and I got within 35 yards before he stood up! First pic is him bedded. I put him about 225-230". One of the best bucks I've ever seen. Did not get his sheds. Too many cheaters went before season opened (it didn't open till May 1st back then,)

I have some old ones from late season elk tags that I had nearly 10 years ago. I will have to scan them, but they would be worth posting.

Here is a young buck I found on the WY winter range back in the 90's that has a lot of potential.....what do you guys think? I apologize for the photo quality but it is all I have.

Here are a few decent bucks. This first buck had an outside spread of 40"!

Here is one of my personal favorite bucks that I got to watch on the winter range. Named him "Masster". Look at the main beams on this toad of a buck. I watched him all winter long but never got his sheds ;( My dad and I watched him for two winters. He was a joy to watch and snap pics of.

David, holy smolly, that is a GIANT of a buck. I don't remember him from anything you've written or videoed. Any sheds? Any other sightings? Anyone ever kill him?

David, my daughter (cowgirlup) and I are freaking about that deer. Tell us more! What do you estimate him at (spread, gross) Wow!

Matt & Hoyt are correct. The photo is of a young Popeye before he was famous. The photo was taken shortly after he showed up on the winter range. At the time, only a couple of people knew about him. Over the course of the next few years he grew up to be the most famous buck to ever walk the winter range of western Wyoming.

My dad and I saw a 30" buck just this last December when we were scouting close to home in Iona. It was the biggest one I've seen alive.

Matt.....great bucks! I remember that 40" buck and the buck you are calling Masster. They were both great bucks. If Masster is the same buck I am thinking he was, I had two sets of sheds from him.

Bummer, I was hoping there were two deer of that caliber. Did you ever see anything like him?
The best winter range buck I ever saw was about a 230"+ Idaho buck around 35", probably 9x9 or so. Tried to get a photo for two days, then he disappeared from that area. Never found his sheds either.

Here is a photo of a monster I called Goliath. He was the tallest 38" wide buck I have ever seen. Absolute giant!
