what method does everyone use for keeping a non locking/no cap windage turret from spinning off zero. I have rev indicators but I would like something to hold it. I’ve heard o-ring and tape, I tried the o ring and I couldn’t fit it between the turret. If tape what kind are you using? I’d assume electrical but in my experience it leaves a nasty residue when heated at all with sunlight
Update**
I used this tape and it worked pretty well, no stick just friction so I had to cut the strips in half and wrap it tight.

Good electrical tape, 3m. Why care about residue since you're never going to remove it? If so, any adhesive cleaner will remove it without ruining the scope. WD40 is actually a great adhesive remover, it works better than some so-called adhesive removers.

Never had a need to. Kinda seems like a made up problem. Go outside and use your stuff. Has it ever moved? How far? I bet it wasnt much if any....

And yes electrical tape can leave a icky sticky nasty residue....OMG

I get it lol. But I don’t care for a residue left on my 1200$ scope.. lol. I did it anyways with the tape. but yes it bumps off by 1 or 2 clicks in the case. More of an ocd thing

It might be worth experimenting with gaffer's tape, or even painter's tape. Gaffer's tape is meant to come up without leaving reside, as is painter's tape, but you can get gaffer's tape in dozens of different cloth patterns, including subdued hunting colors.
