I messaged them a few times about mine not shipping as well. It took 2 weeks to get mine shipped. A month is excessive

Yeah I’m not really sure what’s going on and I’m not trying to bash them. I think I ordered the second or third stainless rifle available and they say it still hasn’t arrived from Tikka with no timeframe on when it will. I’m getting pretty annoyed. I know it’s not completely in their hands but it doesn’t seem like they are bird dogging it much either. Glad everyone’s is shooting well at least! Makes me excited for when mine will show up!

When I purchased mine, it said “in stock”. I wasn’t even aware they were selling before actually having them in hand

I too ordered a stainless, just last week. They told me they expect to get them shipped out around 2 weeks from that point, so next week or the week after.

I'm holding out for a 20" stainless Lite. Freeing up a OG 6-s with an OG 22 ordered. Seriously hoping it takes a while for Tikka to come out with one. Spent enough on guns and accessories this year.

Has any one confirmed if the 22” barrels can be cut down to between 16-17” and still have enough diameter for 5/8”-24 threading without adding a collar?

Keep in mind, these are caliper measurements while "eyeballing" a tape measure on a kitchen table. They won't be perfect, but they should be close. (JRTXE32422MT)

Granted the above measurements are just from some dude with calipers and not mfg...it's probably damn close.

How far CAN you cut it down? MIN for 5/8 Class 3A is 0.625... (http://www.efunda.com/designstandards/screws/unified.cfm?start=148&finish=227)... without shoulder (a 0.05" per side puts you back up to 0.725 - but some think that's fuddlore). TBAC recommends no smaller than 0.725 (http://thunderbeastarms.com/tech/thread-specifications)

Most people recommend threading 1/2 or 9/16 and buy an adapter - rocksett it on. Otherwise, have the gunsmith add a false shoulder.

Yeah I just got mine chopped 4" and Karl used a shoulder. I think you'll need one for 16" or 17" and 5/8.

Depends on who you ask. Karl said 50 thou is enough without adding a shoulder. If you add a shoulder .675 is more than enough.

Still makes me lean towards building a 6GT instead if I do a 16-17” 6mm. And just get a prefit.

Yea I’ve stopped in and asked a few shops that carry a ton of tikkas in MT. They all looked at me like I was dense and said tikka doesn’t make a 6 creed.

***Update, found one about 2 hours after posting! But they wouldn’t sell it to me, claimed FL residents can’t purchase any guns in MT…. While here I am with dozens of guns I’ve purchased in MT hope the feds aren’t looking for me!****

I think they had a sign on the register that said they weren’t taking or doing any FFL transfers. Another funny thing is that they wouldn’t sell me the gun claiming it was illegal, clearly is not, BUT they told me if I had a copy of a MT property tax bill (which I do) they could sell it to me, which would have been actually illegal
I’ll find one eventually. Even if they would have transferred I didn’t want to give them business after that.
