Will Tikka come out with a 6 CM soon???

Push it in the chamber with your finger I can single feed any Tikka I own.

I realize that. But that isn’t correct. If I can’t just throw a round in and feed it with the bolt, that isn’t correct. Having to tip it up and push it in with my finger isn’t ideal in a field scenario.

I don't know that I've ever had a rifle with a DBM that single fed 100% reliably without some help. I always push singles in the chamber with my thumb on all rifles, even my push feed Model 70's. I've watched enough of Eric Courtina's hunters challenges to know that almost 0 guns will single feed reliably under speed and pressure. For me, it's not an issue.

Nose of the bullet just hits the barrel tenon below the chamber. So the mag sits low enough that a bullet sitting on top of the mag isn’t quite aligned with chamber.

But fed out of the mag, it hits the feed ramp which aligns it with the chamber.

That’s crazy. Every gun I own, and have owned, prior to this one you can just throw round in the action, on top of the mag, and close the bolt without it jamming.

Hodgdon data suggests theres 100fps more from Staball 6.5 or Ramshot Grand. Or obviously could try any one if the others. In the 22 I found some powders just dont show pressure the same. Would atleast rule out an option.

It took an epic F-load of solvent and even brake cleaner but I got it solved. I just got done shooting it after work.

I ran a ladder to 2860 with the 116’s and IMR4183 with more gas in the tank and zero heavy bolt. It was almost undoubtedly my fault, I think I was too excited to shoot it when I got it and didn’t do a great job getting the lube off of a couple of pieces of 6.5 brass that I necked down when my dies showed up.

I was trying to make that powder work because I have 7 pounds of it laying around and nothing else that I load for it. I have an 8lber of Norma MRP that according to GRT is/would be the “go fast” juice for it.

Mine shoots pretty good. I got jam at 2.95” with 116 TMK’s.

Here is 15 116 TMK’s at 2.88”

14 of them are in a ~1.1” group. Pay no attention to the one on the right. I blame suppressor mirage as it was boiling hot. Or was that the boresight? Lol

It’s the regular lite with threaded 22.4” (I think?) barrel. I really wanted to chop it before a moose hunt I will be taking it on in September, but probably won’t have the time to. Id like to shoot it weekly between now and then and suss out any issues with the system.

Runs the 116’s at 2915 with 42 grains of IMR4831

Ended up chopping a 22" Lite SS to 18", threaded 1/2-28 with a cheapo Amazon adapter. Hornady brass with 5+ firings, blem 107 SMK, 43 grains of 7828SSC. Average 2750 over 10 shots at very low pressure. This was the same load a 20" 243 Improved shot at 2800 fps fully broken in.
The two outside the group were 13 rounds in to the shot string on a dead calm day, so mirage was getting bad. Looks like it should be a good barrel.
Once the barrel has 100 rounds of this training load through it, 116 TMKs will get speed tested with SB65, RL16, N560 and H1000.

Great-looking rifle and grouping. What does this set up weigh? I'm interested in getting a 6cm tikka and swapping the stock.
