Will Tikka come out with a 6 CM soon???

Have a buddy at Shot Show, had him ask Tikka directly

“They do not currently have that caliber in their line up. Finland is about two years behind everyone else so it should/could be on the way.

BUT

Contact a direct dealer and mention “Tikka Select” program. You can special order what you want (as long as they are willing to offer it) 6-8 month lead time.”

Thanks for the info. 243 1:8 it is!

I bet a 25 comes out before the 6.

The demand for factory hunting rifles in 6 creed is almost completely contained within this site. I know there are literally dozens of us but let's be real.
I don't get it. Equal length barrel 6cm puts the boots to a 25cm ballistically and shootability wise. Personally I see no niche needed space in the hunting world for a 25cm. The cartridge was born in the prs game, high bc with less recoil than 65s.

I've been shooting the high bc 25 cal game since 2018 when the 131 came out, 25 saum, 25cm, recently 25x47 and 25gt. I hunt with a 6cm 95% the time.

Clear as mud.

Time to look at other brands. I'll re-chamber my CTR 6.5 to 6 after I shoot out the barrel next year. Keep the old T3 6.5x55 for my backup rig with the original barrel (purchased in 2005!). In the mean time I'm looking at Horizon. Lots of cool offerings in modern cartridges. The new Villain in 22 Creed with 18" barrel looks bad ass and I hear they stack.

A $2,500 Rem 700 footprint rifle or $700~ Tikka and a $600 barrel?

$770 for the rifle, $600 for the barrel, $200 for a vise and action wrench, $600 for a stock that doesn’t suck… the math isn’t that egregious.

The Tikka is not super appealing outside of the “buy and shoot” use case.

I personally wouldn't want the stock on the Horizon.

Even if the rifles were equal, the math still flavors the Tikka on cost.

That said, I have no problem with other people spending there money however they want.

Fair (but see my comment below on final Tikka cost after necessary upgrades). Also I would always prefer a Tikka rifle (been shooting them for over 20 years), but my buying decision is largely based on cartridge preference for a specific performance, and Tikka is just getting too far behind the curve. If a rem clone I would definitely install a Geissele Super 7 trigger. Geissele also jumping in on the bolt gun game in the last 2 years. Can't wait to see where that goes.

What he said! Both my Tikkas well over 2.5k set up proper.

That sucks. There was all kinds of cool-kid secret squirrel hinting it would launch at Shot. Oh well.
