Will/Does Anyone Make a 308 Win Suppressor?

I'm looking at all of the creedmoor-sized suppressors like the OG6S, the ZG nano and 6.5, etc, and I'm wondering if there will be a similar-sized suppressor made for 308 win?

I'm not sure how much bigger it will need to be than an OG6S, but it seems like similar charges and pressures.

I know theres some CYA involved in suppressor manufacturers making every 30 cal suppressor good for 50 rounds of rapid fire 300 RUM, but it seems like suppressors are getting more and more niche and cartridge specific, maybe there's a market for a 308 win, 7-08, 6.5 creed sized can?

So you want a og6 or zg6.5 with a 30 cal bore? I mean our gen 2 og30 is shaping up to be pretty dang good and will only be 4in muzzle forward unless something changes. Unless you’re talking smaller? It’s hard to make a smaller can that’s efficient with a 30 cal bore if that’s what you’re wanting.

Yes, pretty much exactly.

I am looking forward to this. Do you think you would make it any smaller or lighter if it was 308win ish only?

I'm not a suppressor nerd by any means, so I don't know how much the bore volume changes suppressor design.

Thank you for the response.

So you're basically looking for a can that's designed to be small/light vs supression:size?

A .308 .30 cal can that is sized smaller to be just as loud as a 300rum through a "normal" .30 cal can?

I think that could kind of relate to K size cans.

I think probably most 30 cal cans are optimized for .308 since that is kind of the defacto testing cartridge. The magnums are more for destructive testing.

I don’t know if it’s hearing safe but I’ve shot a few animals out of my 20” 308 with an Ultra 5.
I can do two rounds or so in a hunting situation and not feel like I got my bell rung, or bothered my hunting partner behind me. I know people don’t love that can but it’s short, light, and reduces noise.
I obviously wear ear pro when target shooting with it.

I totally agree. Same with 338 Fed or 358 Win type cartridges.

No way I'm hanging a 12-16 oz 338 suppressor off the end of a 5 pound rifle, and the Rugged AK 360 Ti is loud AF and costs 1500

I've learned there aren't many of us shooting these cartridges, but I sure think a 1 off run every couple years would sell quick. Whether that is cost effective for the manufactures, who knows, I'll just keep buying Airlocks and US product until they feel like they owe me a solid 🤣🤣🤣

OG 6 form factor, 338 bore. Non magnum rated. Take my money.

Same thing for 350L.

I think every manufacturer should make a one-suppressor-for-all-my-guns type 30 cal can because people who are just getting into suppressors tend to think that way.

But as suppressors become more and more prevalent and common, the paradigm is shifting to one per rifle or one per cartridge class. Look at the success of 22/6/6.5 specific cans. I think there is or will be a market for a 308 win class 30 cal or 36 cal cans.

How's that Gen 2 shaping up compared to the original? I'm happy with my OG -it's good enough. But the OG 65 and 6s are both exceptional. I have a new 18-in 308 barrel going on my old M77, and that will probably be done around the same time I can make an actual decision between the OG Gen 2 and the reflex reaper.

Without letting out too much info, it should be noticeably better. The Original OG30 is tough as nails and a good suppressor but we’ve learned a lot over the last year and would like to integrate a lot of that into the Gen 2 design. We will release more info as we’re about done prototyping, but things are looking good.

I always forget about 350 L because I'm out West but you're right, they are essentially ubiquitous in the Midwest at this point. All my buddies back in WI, MN, MI have at least one. 36 cal US....cmon!!
