Bought some of these Wild Society meals off camofire and figured we’d give some of them a review today. I prepared the biscuits and gravy with suggested water amount (1 1/4 cups) and waited 8 minutes (son was hungry and didn’t want to wait 8 minutes or longer but convinced him to do 8). The breakfast skillet was prepared with 1 1/2 cups of water (1 1/4 suggested) and waited 10 then 2 more minutes. I used 1 3/4 cups of water in the fajitas and waited 15 minutes.
Of you use these, I’d recommend more time and more water. The 1 3/4 water and 15 minutes seemed correct.
Water: use more than recommended (1 3/4 is my suggestion)
Time: 15 minutes seemed right but 12 was ok
Flavor:
Biscuits and gravy was just ok. MH and PR is more flavorful IMO, but I also think the time and water amount may have played into the meh flavor. Sausage had a little bit of a kick.
Breakfast skillet was pretty tasty. The potatoes really stood out IMO as did the flavoring. Sausage was a little spicy. Has been my favorite breakfast skillet of all the ones I’ve tried.
Fajitas: water and time seemed correct. Flavor was plentiful but for sure on the spicy side. Spiciest freeze dried meal I’ve ever had. Almost too spicy if you don’t like spicy.
I have other flavors to try that I’ve yet to sample but one can only handle so many freeze dried meals at a time.
I’d buy the breakfast skillet again and it would go into my hunting/putdoor trip rotation, but not the biscuit and gravy until I get the water ratio correct.
