Bought a new house on 5 acres in December. There's a small creek that runs through it. My first morel haul.

There is a lookalike not yummy mushroom that grows on conifers .. in Ca all oysters are on dead cottonwoods not sure if it is deciduous specific or soft /hard wood specific .. but you may be able to single it out that way

I've found oysters on conifers in California.
