FWIW, anyone else trying to smash them down as much as possible, my 0 deg long/wide Wiggys fits in the Sea to Summit XL (10.5 x 23) compression sack just fine and I get the straps pulled down maybe around 1/3 of the way. It might even borderline fit in the next smallest bag but I'm not going to spend the money to find out.

And compressed down like that, it fits perfectly in the bottom of the Paradox 6300 bag.

I just ordered a 15L OR compression dry sack...I think mine will fit in there. I guess we'll find out!

I know this is an old thread but wanted to comment after a year and a half of use with my Wiggy's bags. They have been amazing! They are literally the most comfortable bags I have ever slept in. I have had quite a few bags over the years (multiple North Face bags, multiple Marmot bags, Rei, Ray Way quilt, Western Mountaineering, Enlightened Equipment quilt) and am seldom truly comfortable when sleeping. It seems I am usually too hot or too cold, or too hot to begin with then cold around 4am. The quilts come in second comfort wise to me. For some reason the Wiggy's bags have a wider comfort range for me than other sleeping bags. I don't overheat and sweat as much and thus stay warmer. Kinda gross but when I wake up the exterior shell of the bag is slightly damp around my core, I wonder if the lamilite pulls the moisture away from my body better than other bags. They are like a warm poofy cloud that seems to be just the right temp. If you read through my initial posts you will see I wasn't too happy with my purchase to begin with. These bags are still big and heavy, but they make up for it in comfort and reliability in my opinion. For the first year I kept telling my wife how comfortable the bag was and after her first night sleeping in it she completely agreed and I no longer had a wiggy's bag. I just ordered a second superlight FTRSS combo. I've read through many of the posts where the wiggy's owner rubs me the wrong way and I get his newsletters where he attacks other products which also rubs me wrong, but bottom line on the sleeping bags I own is they are amazing and are what I use when the conditions are right. Just wanted to share since these forums is where I go when looking for info.

Im in the market for a new 20 degree bag. I havent really looked at the Wiggys but at first glance it looks like 4 lbs is kinda heavy. How well does it compress?!

I am currently considering the Big Agnes Spike Lake 14 at 2 lbs9oz for $150 or the Kelty Tuck 22 which is 3lbs and $90. Im also considering the Sierra Design Zissou 24 at 2lbs and $176 but its only considered a 2 season bag for some reason.

Thanks for the input

BeWitty,

ill let you know once mine arrives how it compress and the weight.

it is a synthetic bag so its not going to compress like down, I think the spike lake is down so its hard to compare the two.

Again for me I needed an extra bag for a family camping trip, and I've been wanting to have a synthetic bag in the line up just in case. I am hoping its closer to 3lbs without the stuff sack and included pillow. but I wont know until it arrives.

I just got off the phone with Marc @ Wiggy's Alaska he has 2 bags he has spec'd for him

Mountain Hunter and Glacier Hunter Lightened versions of the ultra and super light bags

he took some material out of the bottom of the bag and runs a lighter shell, sounded like great solid bags.

Said the Mountain Hunter which is a lightened up ultra light weighs 2lb 14oz

Glacier Hunter is lightened up superlight probably a 10 to 15 or so bag, he was 3lb 4oz for reg. wide and I think 3lb 14oz for the long wide

probably best to talk to him, im just going off memory.

bags were $240

I have had a Glacier Hunter from Marc at Wiggy's Alaska since 2009. Its been to Kodiak nearly a dozen times now and usually get 15-20 nights in it per year so easily over 100 nights in it now. Anyways, yes they aren't the lightest, but when I can afford to bring it I do. Usually they stay in base camp like when getting flown to Kodiak or on boat or ATV based hunts. But there are times when it can get especially wet and such that I slog it up the mountain. Yup, nearly 2 pounds heavier than my Western Moutnaineering down bag of the same rating, but gives me apiece of mind knowning I can crawl in it like a drowned rat after hiking all day in the rain through the alders and rain gear is saturated and still be warm and actually dry clothing out.

Down is still king for space to weight....but that only goes so far at times. ;)

I have a Glacier Hunter from Marc. I do love it, but mine tips the scales just over 4 lbs for the wide/long because I'm fat. It's a 15* rated bag, but only because there's less insulation on the bottom for rating purposes...It performs like a zero bag if you ask me. I've had it down into single digits and was toasty. It'd do zero for me. I have a couple other Wiggy's from the standard Colorado line, and my Glacier gets used nine times out of ten.

I have had wiggys superlight set up for a while now. I still pack it for base camp because like everyone else has posted they are that comfortable. Bulky yes. I do not back pack with mine. I just used the overbag for a week on a cot with a 4" foam pad in a wall tent where it got down into the 40s I opened it up as far as it would go so I could hang a leg out. perfect.
Over the years I have always been warm always dry in all conditions and temps but never below -10 degrees
I have never regretted buying the wiggy's sleep system but I never expected it to be an ultra lite either.

Spent a week hammocking in a Wiggy's that was blowing snow all day and night. I like how their centerline zipper Freedom bags serve double duty...no need to chill getting outta bed to make coffee.
