Do you get cold using a quilt? I’ve always been hesitant to use a quilt because I’m a cold sleeper...
I normally use them when temps are above freezing and they have been pretty comfortable. Its nice to wake up in the morning when I am not corkscrewed into my bag. Much below freezing I normally use a bag unless I am hiking further in and need to minimize weight in my pack. I have used my 0 degree quilt into the teens and I did ok with it. A bag is warmer but like everything else its a trade off. I also use my quilts when I use my hammock. I like them.

Nemo Forte (synthetic) or Disco (down). Specifically designed for side sleeping! Picked up a Forte and it's been so much nicer for sleeping while tossing and turning.

Love my Nemo forte.

Haven’t dropped the coin on a western mountaineering bag but they are thought to be top of the heap by many.

I bought an EE convert quilt in Apex extra wide long. It has plenty of room and can be a quilt or sleeping bag as I prefer.
