WIDE FEET, SORE FEET ANYONE?!

Just throwing my personal experience in here as somebody who technically needs a EEEE boot width. Lowa Renegades are the only lace-up boot I can wear. Give them a try if you are having trouble finding workable options.

This - Awesome recommendation! They work wonders for me - and also come in a specific 'wide' version, which not a lot of boots do these days

I have a goat hunt on Kodiak this fall and James helped me with a custom fitting.
I have pretty severe bunions, was getting numbness on three toes on my left foot. I was surprised when he recommended going to a 12.5 4e (my new balance are 11 4e). He built the orthotic so my foot flexed in the correct position in the boot, locked my heel in place.
I’m about 30 miles in, no blister, no rubbing, the soreness in my bunion has decreased dramatically, and i haven’t had any numbness.
It was a big ticket item, but i feel like ghe custom fit boots are making a difference. I just hope they can get the same result in s lighter weight boot for hunts that aren’t extreme.

fyi - I just bought some Merrell "MOAB 3" "vented"(which means no Gore-tex) low-cut in 10-1/2 Wide.

Pretty happy with the fit on my duck-feet. Gonna mail order a couple more pairs.
