Looking for new boots I’ve tried on Hanwag alverstone II wides, they aren’t wide enough. Are the Schnee wides, Zamberlan wide, or the scarpa wider than Hanwag or the same. Trying not drop $1200 on boots just to return them all or most of them.

No crispi boots recommendations, my feet and crispi don’t get along

I found I have really wide feet after some foot issues the last couple years. Keen makes an extra wide goretex hiking boot that works pretty well for me. Made in America. I have a brand new pair of kenetreks sitting at home now.

Are you just wide in the forefoot or back at the ankle too? Flat or high arch?

If your ankle and feet are strong enough, nothing comes close to the comfort of vivo tracker esc boots

Just the forefoot medium arch. Could try Kenetrek, bridger or hard scrabble

Zamberlan are narrow in the toe box. Found them similar to the hanwag wides in width which was not enough for me.

My feet are 9.5, 4E. I had to go to Lathrop and Sons for something that fit. Money well spent on their extra-wide boots. I had a pair of Zamberlans that were ok in the city but in the mountains, blistered my feet in one hard morning. Good luck, but I think you'll eventually have to spend the money.

I’ve considered the L&S. Thanks for confirming my suspicions about the zamberlans.

I have two pairs of Zamberlans.
Sz 8E.
Both have fantastic construction...They're beautiful.
The uninsulated fit great, lots of room and the lacing system gives you options.
The new ones are the Hunter Pro Evo 1005Hunter Pro.
Insulated means a slightly tighter fit but I'm breaking them in with thinner socks(Black Friday purchase). They fit well, comfortable, and definitely capable as a back country boot.
Kennetreks fit me but their insoles are about as uncomfortable as can be and there are many comments around their insoles.
I am really liking Zams.

That’s what my fear of a lot of the boots these days. Especially the euro made boots. I may end up with lanthrop and sons if Kenetrek doesn’t fit

Have you tried going a full size larger? I have a 4E and have to wear a full size bigger boot to get extra width and it also helps keep my toes from hitting the front on steep downhills. As far as wide boots, Scapra Grand Dru's are wider than most of their other boots.
I've tried dozens of boots and now have switched to an Altra lone peak hiker sized up one size for almost everything and for regular every day shoes I wear an Altra lone peak lowtop in wide.
