Why this Stupidity should matter to you.

Except that the lefties tend to he the freedom haters. COVID proved this.
You’ve got a point. Maybe I should have phrased that differently.

What I meant was that it shouldn’t be a right vs. left issue. It’s really about preserving freedoms that can disappear a little at a time once the framework for restrictions is in place.

Living in Maryland, I’ve watched that happen with gun laws and with business regulations. Once the process starts, it tends to keep expanding regardless of who is in office.

Look at CA, look at CO, the writing is on the wall. How do you even fight back against it when voting isn't working? Politicians are actively taking away our rights. The sad truth is if you happen to be in a situation where you defend yourself or others from a bad situation even if you are legal in one of those states they are going to use the law to come after you.
You can bet on it

I see a recurring statement in this thread and many places elsewhere that these politicians are "stupid".

THEY ARE NOT STUPID! Almost every one has a law degree (or equivalent bar tending degree) and are raking in money hand over fist - not usually symptoms of stupidity. "Corrupt" is the correct descriptor.

They would much rather you think they are stupid (incompetent) than to recognize they are corrupt. All this "stupid liberal" action is an orchestrated attack on our country and way of life. Actions by traitors enriching themselves at the country's expense or deliberately undermining our stability. Constantly chipping away at our rights, the ability to communicate freely and the ability to resist and/or defend ourselves.

To think of them as "stupid" is to overlook the actual facts, minimize and further enable their criminal behavior.

Case in point: Virginia's current overreach:
"The only reason why the government would want to disarm you after 243 years is because they intend to do something that you would shoot them for." - UNKNOWN

Why I continue to support republicans... Even when they do stupid 💩 with land
Please don't take this as a personal attack, but this idea is a very gargantuan problem. We need to start supporting and attacking policy, not people. When Republicans create good policy, support it. When they create shit policy, oppose it. When democrats create good policy, support it. When democrats create shit policy, oppose it.

This idea that we need to pick people or teams is ruining America. A good idea will stand on its own and a bad idea doesn't automatically become a good idea just because it came from a republican.

Both parties have been infiltrated with special interest money. If we make it this easy, they will simply figure out which party has the tribal support and ram all the bad shit through as a Trojan horse with that party. Then the takeover is done and everyone wonders how it happened because it was "their team" that betrayed them.

Complete disregard for the first amendment not to mention human decency is soooo refreshing.

Apparently sarcasm was lost on you two. In America we have the right to worship whatever god we would like. The Muslim bashing is unamerican and anti 1st amendment. The thread you thought was so great was full of hate for fellow Americans and was a great display of the rot that has grown in the Republican party the last 10 years. Definitely not something to be celebrated
I just see certain groups if people causing issues. The white Sunday morning Christians atent doing it. Yet those folks have the most to lose.

There’s a big difference between smart and common sense, when it comes to common sense they’re “Stupid”. They can definitely open a book up and read it and speak big words most people don’t understand including me. These so called smart people bring a bill to the floor on an issue they know nothing about and make themselves look stupid. Did you watch any of the videos? Not hard to figure out which has the common sense and which one thinks food comes from a grocery store 😂. Yes it’s pretty obvious why they want to disarm us.

God Bless America 🇺🇸
Salute our Veterans 🫡🇺🇸

it's kinda hard to do when you're voting for one position and you have two choices... I go with the lesser of two evils. We're stuck in a two party system and it's not gonna change in my lifetime. like it or not, it is what it is

Voting and supporting are two different things. Also, we need real people too run for office. I don't care what letter is next to their name. Just because you vote for someone doesn't mean you have to support everything they do unconditionally. As an example, I voted for President Trump, but there are some really questionable decisions being made based on the information that is publicly available.

You are correct though. Voting for 3rd party candidates is a waste of a vote, so you are stuck with the lesser of the two evils on the ballot.

Plenty of Christians pushing anti American rhetoric. Doug Wilson is the most prominent example. Our Constitution protects all religions, it doesn't protect extremist actions by religious people. Separating the two is possible. If you can't do that you're part of the problem

Pretty much spot on. I learned my lesson about 3rd party votes with Ross Perot. My thinking with him was that he was already a billionaire, so he wouldn't be tempted by the $$$. See how that's worked out with Trump?

In regards to what letter is next to their names, whichever party has the most members controls committees, which bills make it to the floor, judicial appointments, etc...

There is only one D I have ever voted for, John Dingell. This kinda goes to your voting for people based on their ideas thought. I voted for him solely because he was a life member of the NRA.

Somewhat on the ideas thing: I'm a benefactor member of the NRA, have been for about 12 years now. The NRA will never get another nickel from me. I used to give quarterly donations to the NRA-ILA. On Oct. 2nd, 2017, ( right after the Las Vegas mass shooting) I sent an extra donation. When I saw the NRAs reaction/statement to the shooting, I canceled the donation. Then, I ordered tar & feathers from Amazon, and had them sent to Wayne LaPierre and Chris Cox.
