His partner was smaller and looked to be in worse shape still from the winter. Ill see if I can find them again in a couple weeks, see how they are then.

Bear season in CA opens with deer season and runs through the end of the year or until the quota is hit. They haven’t come near the quota since they banned hounds years ago.

Just one. Fall season only, over the counter. There’s a few parts of the state you can’t take bears but the majority is fair game.

That area has a ton of color phase bears, a jet black one is a rarity. Goal this year is to stick a nice cinnamon one with my bow.
