I am thinking about buying a spotter this off season. So you guys think bigger is definitely better then? I was thinking a 65mm swaro but now I'm not so sure.

It will have to depend on your priorities. Are you more concerned with packing weight? Is first and last light critical to your glassing strategy? This thread just highlights that sometimes the reasons for shaving weight are not as important as glassing abilities.

Winter is a great time to convince your local dealer to set up a line up of high end spotters for a 1st and/or last light demo session outside their store. (Viewing inside the store in good daylight doesn't tell you much). Then you may have the opportunity to not only compare 65's to the larger scopes, but also potentially get a feel for other brands. I'm actually surprised that more stores do not hold demo events like this.
