too broke for new bows! but don't really feel like I'm missing out too much. My 2015 PSE Premonition HD cost me about $230 and pretty much matches up with any of the new offerings at 345fps, 3.9lbs, 80% letoff, smooth draw, very easy to tune, etc..

I'm also a member of the old bow club - currently own two Elite Answers - one 60lb, one 70lb - from 2013 and 2012 respectively, and each was purchased fully loaded for $400. I just about dry-heave when I see what new bows (and rifles, shotguns, etc) are going for. I don't know that I'll ever buy a new, off the shelf bow again. If there's a downside to the older equipment market, it's finding parts if they become necessary though.

Decided to look at old new stock, finally decided on a barely used 2006 Bowtech Guardian.

That's a 2007 Guardian. 2007 was the first year for the Guardian and the Commander. Oh, and the cables should cross below the cable slide.

I just found some 70lb limbs for my '07 Commander and switched them out this weekend. I'm looking forward to shooting this bow again. I haven't shot it much in the last 12 years as I've been shooting 70+. But I also have my 2006 Bowtech Old Glory and 2014 PSE Freak to shoot too. I haven't decided which I'll take hunting this year, but I shot my first archery bull with this Commander so I might take it for nostalgia. The Guardian and Commanders are great shooting bows. But I don't think Dave is making limbs for these bows........at least he wasn't as of a few years ago. That's why I was psyched to find these 70lb'ers.

Thanks, I knew at one point it was an 07 but wasn’t sure anymore and winged it. It has a winners choice cable slide and it seems like all the guardians i see with that style slide are crossing on top. It does shoot great, love how quiet it is. I searched high and low for replacement limbs when I bought it and came up empty or just found one guy on ebay trying to get $80 for one. I’ll probably buy a whole other bow at some point for parts.

I am currently shooting a 2016 PSE Drive R that I bought new (post deployment gift to self). Prior to that I shot a 1999 Darton Maverick (Recurve Limbs) bought new. And prior to that a 1983 (I think) Browning Safari bought new, gift from folks.

My bow is old. It's a 2004 High Country Archery Per-FX. I bought it new and hunted with my dad for a few years and we never had any luck. His health declined and we stopped hunting for quite awhile. He passed away a few years back and a friend and I took up hunting again, Muzzleloader at first, and last year archery. I'm going to use that bow still. It shoots great, it's quiet, and reasonably fast. I don't see any reason to replace it and I want to get my first kill with the bow I first bow hunted with.

If you find something that works and has history attached to it, you gotta stick with it. Hope you run into good luck with it this year!

I hunted with it last year and it still shot really nice and needed just a little tuning. But I need to get it to a shop this summer and likely get a new string (looks perfect though!) and I think I'll replace the 5-pin sight with a 3-pin, maybe a slider. Here in Western Washington you really only need 40yd or less, at least in the woods where I seem to find myself.
