I started off with a Bear Assault almost 10 years ago, decided winter before last I needed an upgrade. Started looking at new bows but I was turned off a bit by new styling and new prices even more. Decided to look at old new stock, finally decided on a barely used 2006 Bowtech Guardian. I love it, I think it looks awesome and it feels even better, very smooth pull as well. A little heavier than new bows but i’ve never shied away from a little extra weight. I will probably have to buy another one just to replace a broken limb though. Paid $200.00 off ebay. Really happy with the decision. I’m wondering how many others out there are refusing to buy the latest and greatest bows and rocking the old battle axes.

I've never purchased a current model year bow in 30 years of bow hunting.

On that Bowtech, check and make sure those are good limbs. I don't recall the cutoff, but they had some self exploders around that time.

I did read about them, checked for fractures before shooting it, no explosions or issues so far 🤞🏼

Barnesdale archery makes replacement limbs for the Bowtech. I think the guardians are ok, but I'm not certain.

The destroyers were known for self-destruction.

As of late I have been buying bows from the late 60's.

I’ll never buy brand new. The last two Xpeditions I’ve had cost $325 and $400 respectively. Each were the previous years model and I couldn’t be happier.

My last one was a 2015 synergy which was a shop demo. Great deal and a great shooter. I was on the ever other year plan of buying a 1 year old used bow. If I bought a new bow know it would certainly come with child support payments because I would need them.

My wife would slap me anyway if I even brought up wanting an $800+ bow and we aren’t broke. This one retailed at $850 I believe and it looks like it has never seen the woods.

Can’t even remember the year I bought my Q2XL - was still shooting fingers so it was a few years back.
Still shoots just fine and the critters sure can’t seem to tell the difference.

I’m shooting a 2016 PSE decree hd that I picked up for about $250. Crazy how much value they lose in just a few years

I think people have a thing with bows vs guns, like a bow is supposed get trashed more for some reason. I think most people are pretty gentle with them.

I buy a new bow every 10 years. My last new bow was $750 . I well pay the 75 bucks a year. I simply don't trust used bows, way to much stored power. If someone dry fired or even dropped it out of the tree stand. No thanks. But I'm glad there are people that do.

This was the first time in almost 15 years that I bought a new off the shelf bow. A 2019 Traverse. I usually buy up last years or the year before models from the guys who buy the latest flagships every year and sell them for the next model year. Figure I can get a VRX next year for a great price!
