Who will shoot a cow elk this year?

I hold out for a bull, I can always pick up a leftover rifle cow tag if needed

Well, I've got a cow tag so cows it is. Just got back. But what did I see?? Nothing but mule deer and bulls. And a bear.

Personally I feel the herd numbers are low where I hunt so i won’t shoot a cow because that’s all we have to rebuild the herds.

I think all ES tags need to go away.

Daughter and I have NV cow tags. I'll pick up an OTC 2nd season CO bull tag if I fill my buck tag early enough.

Shot a cow Saturday after seeing two bulls. Bird in the hand, I guess. She's already wrapped and in the freezer, and heart tacos for dinner tonight.

If it's an either sex tag then.....first come first served. if it's a cow then so be it. I like elk and don't get enough of them!

Bunch of lady killers here, passed on about 45 cows so far… no ragrets cause a ragger will get it at the end of the season. I want bigger herds! I am not big on killing cow/doe anything these days. I know, they issue the tags and manage for them. Don’t have an issue with that. It’s just personal preferences, just like I don’t shoot hen ducks, it is what it is

Picking up a cow tag in Wyoming in a few weeks, hunting with 3 guys with bull tags and one other with cow tag. Should be plenty of meat for the freezer!

MT general season rifle in ES units... First 10 days of hunting bull only. After 10 days of actual hunting, first legal elk is getting shot. Hopefully it won't come to that

I did last week. WY gen tag. Afternoon day 11 of 12 day hunt. Made a great shot. Elk down in 10 seconds. No regrets.
