Digi-scoping adapters, are difficult to review well.
I find that most people associate the photos captured, with the adapter used, far too often.
Many of us have seen a large range of photographic quality, from poor to fantastic, coming from a wide range of Digi-scoping set ups.
One problem that may show itself in this review process is the idea that the adapter makes, or breaks the photo.
A review of an adapter ought to have much less to do with the photos you get, and more to do with the actual job that the adapter performs.
Since the adapter does not do any of the photographic work, it has no lenses, it has no sensors, it has no photographic capability, the adapter review should focus on what the adapter does well, and what it does not do well.
1. Does the adapter work with a wide range of cameras?
The camera is a critical part of Digi-scoping success. The ability to manipulate the camera controls, the camera processor, the sensor, all play a part in the end result.
With this particular review, being a cellular phone camera, many of the photographic quality controls are going to be irrelevant.
Cell phones are limited by the lenses and sensors they have in them. They do have nice processors and software, which is one of the reasons that such a small lens and sensor can produce an image of any quality at all.
2. Does the adapter work well with a wide range of optics?
The adapter does you no good if it won't attach to your optic.
If the adapter does not work well with the optics it does fit, it is not worth buying.
3. What defines working well?
Is the adapter easy to use? Is it bulky, heavy, or a hassle to store and transport?
When you use the adapter, does it perform flawlessly, with ease? Is there a lot of fiddling, tweaking, and manipulating?
Does the adapter create issues with the function of the camera, or the optic?
4. Is the product built well?
If a product breaks easily, has loose pieces, has fit issues, or other design flaws, can you spot these problems?
A good review would point out minor details that make the product work well, or the lack of those features.
A reviewer should be experienced in the subject. You need good photos of the product test as well as photos captured while using the product.
I believe the review needs to be unbiased. Pointing out both things that work well, and things that don't. Advantages and short comings.
As a Digi-scoping enthusiast, I have tried a few different adapters, and own several spotting scopes.
I do not currently Digi-scope with a cell phone. Nor do I have any intent to. Thus a review by someone like me would be a side note.
I just thought that posting some criteria and setting forth an expectation would be of value.
My Digi-scoping is intended to be made into large prints and hung on my walls. Not the kind of thing that you can do very well, with a cell phone camera.
However, if you like my ideas for the review, and want me to have a crack at creating a review of the adapter and its function, I would do it for you.
I would not do it in 100 words or less, obviously. Sorry about the long winded approach, but you need to get it right, if you are going to do it.
I own a couple spotting scopes that a phoneskope product would fit. Swarovski ATX 95 and a Vortex Razor 85. I would probably do the review with the Vortex Razor 85 and a Samsung Galaxy S5. Unless you prefer that I use the Swarovski. I could do both.
A couple samples of my Digi-scoping, to show that I do know how to use Digi-scoping gear to get results. I can provide many more samples if needed.
Medium range sample.

Close range sample.

Long range sample.

I can provide what I call a super long range sample as well, if needed. Super long range would be Digi-scoping at distances of 1000 yards or more, on high magnification.
The cell phone photos won't be this level of quality, but this is not a review of the camera. Its the adapter. So the photos don't need to be high end quality. But, I do believe that I will be able to get the most out of the photo opportunities due to my experience with Digi-scoping.
I don't care if you want the adapter/ adapters back at the end. I don't need them.
I am sure there are several others who would like to review the product and keep the adapter. One of them may be a better choice for you.
Especially considering I refused to keep my post to 100 words or less.
I am sure we are around 700 words + by now.
