Anybody see the new 8.6 Blackout from shot show 2022?

12.5" barrel, folding stock, subsonic 0.338, 300 yard sledgehammer of silence!

I am interested in it. But, it needs to become available first. Second last time I checked Q LLC isn't even offering a Fix in it to the masses. Hopefully that will all change and some people can get some public use. All I have seen is guys from Q using it. Those pictures and few videos make it seem like a one round for everything.

I had a little interest in it but i ordered an integrally suppressed 375 raptor instead. My dies are on order and 308 brass and 375 bullets are readily available, theres even some load data out there too. I hope the 8.6 catches on i guess it would be cool to see how it performs

There's quite a bit of coverage at shot show 2022. Faxon making rem 700 barrels for it.

It just seemed like it was never gonna really get released lol. Glad its finally coming out. The fix looks like an ok rifle but all the reviews ive seen show a very hard to lift bolt which didn't look great to me for the price

Yep i love my suppressed 300bo! Very excited to have a big brother for it. I just dont see the 8.6 having any advantage at all over my raptor build but we'll see i guess

The 375 raptor ballistics are amazing out of a 308 case. I’ve been pondering a rebore of a 308 bolt for one.

Absolutely but then I'd have to spend the cash on a big bore suppressor.

Nice! I picked up a factory takeoff 16” 308 barrel from the Rem short barrel rifle for pennies, just gotta send to JES to get it drilled! Donor is here too! Been putting it off until powder gets a little better supply

If you look at the load data on 375raptor.com most of the powders for supersonic loads are actually easy to find. They were recommending vihtavuori tin star(n32c) for the subs tho and i have not been able to find any yet. Hopefully i find some by the time i need it, i wont have my dies for like 3.5 months and the rifle for probably 5-8 more months anyway so i have time

I am guessing with all these new cartridges coming out that the new thing for awhile is heavy for caliber, short fatty cases, almost straight walled. Heck I have been reading over a guys writings on The Love of Big Bores. At one time he was shooting a 45/70 Improved (Longer chamber to be able to seat longer bullets out of case and heavy for caliber in a Ruger #1.).

My dad's friend uses a 338 Winchester at deer camp. I thought, MAN that's over-doing it. But....if it puts a 1/2" hole through the lungs/heart and blows a huge hole out the other side of the rib cage (on a broadside shot), who cares. Deer will either drop or leave a big blood trail.

the 8.9 Blackout seems like an even better choice for him.

Yeah I was just kicking myself, need to buy a 338 Thundetbeast now.
Yuupp... if I were interested in getting more big bores then maybe. I like things that serve multiple purposes and buying a can for only 1 rifle might give me some anxiety haha. Otherwise I use my dominus for everything else.

It's been a few years so I don't exactly recall what the specs were but I remember Shawn w/Defensive Edge showing me something similar. I think it was maybe a necked up 221FB case to 338 with a 300gr Berger or SMK stuffed in it. Not sure if he ever did anything with it or not but it looked cool as hell and always thought one of those Rem 700 pistols with arm brace would make for a pretty cool setup chambered in it.

I have a Daniel Defense DDM4 PDW 300blk and a SAS 338 Vengeance can so I think all I'd need is a different barrel, maybe.

Didnt they discontinue the rem 700 pistol?
I think so or maybe it was all about the same time they were going tits up. I remember looking at them online and they weren't priced all that bad and thinking they'd probably make a cool project down the road considering they were classified as a pistol but as usual I waited to long and now if you can find one they're crazy priced.
