Who uses the Garmin Rino GPS/Radio's?

i am famous for getting lost.

my brother bought me one. i love the thing. the radio is the best ive used. you can whisper to each other.

check the hunting laws to see if you can use it on a stalk.

Or each of you have an InReach and pair it to your s smart phone's and you can text and get map coordinates

I said we have GPS's........I didn't say we had smartphones. LOL. Funny thing is......we both have the same flip phone, and never even coordinated that one.

I run the older 530 I think. Love it. Most of my buddies have them. No complaints. I use mapsource up here in AK. Not much detail, but I like it.

My buddies hunt with a mix of 650s and 750s. We also use the cheap camo midland radios. The midland radios work better and get more range than the Garmin radios. The buddy tracking and texting works farther than the midland radios. I don't have one because I think paying $400 for a radio should get you better performance than a pair of $50 midlands. I know the technology exists to make a better product, but garmin has no competition or reason to improve it. If I could get buddy tracking and texting to work on my phone, then all you would need is a walker talkie and you would be set...

I've had one since came out and use it for shed hunting only...half the time in my country you get no signal anyway
