who uses a pillow and which one?

I've always just used the stuff sack for my sleeping bag and filled it with my clothing. Ive tried backpacking pillows, but honestly don't care for them.

Sea to Summit here as well. I'm a minimalist, and I've tried everything else mentioned in the stuff sack department, nothing has worked as well as the aero has for me. I gladly pack the extra weight with the added comfort and sleep it gives me.

I have an old Thermarest from a few years ago, lol its Mossy Oak. I took it on my trip in September and km glad I did. I know you can use a jacket or fill a stuff sack, but I'm a sissy. I can sleep on anything if I have a good pillow.

Used a stuff sack for years until I started wearing layers to sleep in. Tried the exped ultralight pillow but it was super slippery. Some dabs of silicone cured that and it is secure and super comfy. When it's warm it goes between the bag and pad, and when cold it goes under the pad. Way better than a stuff sack ever was.

Where do you apply silicone? Right on pillow then put your head on it?

I use a thermarest fleece pillow case, its the perfect size to stuff my First Lite Puffy into. Makes a good soft pillow, just the right size and weighs nothing since the puffy if a triple purpose piece.

The Therm-a-Rest Compressible Pillow has worked really well for me. It is comfortable, packable and is never left behind, even when I'm trying to conserve pack weight. I use it with three different sleeping bags and it is an important piece of gear whether hunting and camping.

I have been using the Cocoon pillows. While they fulfill their purpose they make my face sweat a lot. I carry a small fabric sheet to put between my face and the pillow.

If you don't mind if you extra ounces, the NEMO Fillo is really comfortable. The material is nice and soft and you don't have to put anything over it to keep from sweating or being sticky. It's a combination of memory foam and an air chamber. It is even strong enough to use as a pad and sit on for glassing. I let a little bit more air out of it before I use it to sit on and it doesn't roll around or balloon on you.

4 dots of silicone on the bottom keeps it from sliding on the pad, and the pillow sort of cups your head to keep it put. Without the silicone, it would squirt out from under my head when I moved. This trick works for slippery sleeping pads as well.

I just picked up a new pillow so I thought I'd go ahead and resurrect this thread. The Hyperlite Mountain Gear large cuben fiber stuff sack pillow is oh so sweet. I haven't tried it in the field yet but went ahead and stuffed my lightweight down jacket into it and it is super comfy and only weighs 1.5 ounces. Cuben fiber with a, probably not waterproof but very water resistant zipper, then turn it inside out and it has micro fleece on one side. I have no doubt that it just made my other pillows obsolete.

I have been using the Zpacks version of that for a couple years. The only difference is mine is a roll top.
