I used to use my sleeping bag stuff sack and I could never get the fill just right with my extra clothing and i would end up with uncomfortable spots on the "pillow". I recently picked up a sea to summit aero that is alright...a little too much like a balloon and it squirts around everywhere..I havent tested it in "real" conditions yet though..I have a feeling my mummy bag will keep it much better contained

I never used to use a pillow, but decided the weight penalty was worth the comfort. I use the Nemo Fillo Pillow.

Girlfriend insisted that she needed a pillow for backpacking to sleep comfortably. I purchased a king sized down pillow from Costco, removed all of the down and then used the pillow case to make two small pack sized pillows and restuffed them with the down to our personal specs. I've got to admit, they're pretty nice, weigh almost nothing and the two of them pack into a 5"x 10" stuff sack.

This sounds like a pretty solid idea.

I use a thermarest self-inflating pillow. I don't think they make it anymore. Last year when heading out on a trip I couldn't find the pillow; so, I went to Cabelas and bought one of their camp pillows. I can't use it. It's too hot, in all temperatures. I don't know how they manufactured this thing; but, I swear I could stand naked in a blizzard holding this pillow and it would make me sweat.

Has anyone seen the goose feat gear down pillows? Im not sure but I think you might be able to use them as a stuff sack for clothes and stuff. If thats the case then that'll be what I'm using.
