Who makes...bow sight question.

I'll confess to being a bit of a good idea fairy. But once I find something I like I stick to it. Considering a new bow and considering sights too.

Does anyone make a 5-pin bow sight , where the top 4 pins are fixed but micro adjustable, and the 5th pin moves/can adjust, like a slider, without moving the top 4 pins?

Out to 50, those top 4 pins, I have no desire to be fiddling with dialing a site in a hunting situation. Critters can move in and out of various ranges and inside of 50, I don't want to move. I hunt from the ground, typically moving on my feet/ still hunting.

But past 50, dialing a sight, especially with my short draw is appealing. Under field conditions this is usually going to be on something wounded.

But, if I move that 60 pin, I don't want the 20-50 pins to change.

I'm just not sure if such a sight is out there.

Thanks.

Yes.

@Billy Goat have you used one of these? How robust are they? Looks to me that it is a swing away site, a lot of moving parts. I was thinking a sight with everything contained in one sight housing.

Interesting concept, but I don't think that's quite what I'm imagining in my head.

I had one. I sold to a buddy who is using it on his backup and he has another on his main bow, so he has 2 of the same.

It can swing, doesn't need to. It's no spot hogg for durability, but I'd say its every bit as durable as pretty much any of the other sights out there.

What I didn't really care for with it, and is going to be an issue with what you are asking for is, the housing didn't move. I shoot so my housing is centered in my peep, not my pin centered in my peep. At distance with that sight I'd have the pin in very bottom of the housing, and it was difficult for me to to use that way. A lot of the target blocked. I shoot a lot with a single pin scope now. I use to shoot a lot with multiple pins. I used a 7 pin sight for over a decade, then got into 5 pin sliders, 3 pin sliders, now I mainly shoot a single pin slider. I'm more accurate when I can align housing with peep and pin is just centered in my view, I stare where I want to hit and the pun is going there.

I have a 25 year old Toxonics sight that is similar to what you are looking for too. Durable is not a word I'd use around that thing. Just old tech, materials have improved a lot.

If you're going to just be moving the 5th pin for longer shots.......just get a 7 pin fixed sight. You can set them up for 30-90. That's what I use. With your short draw, that 5th pin would be bottoming out pretty quickly anyway. I love my 7-pin Spot Hoggs.

Trophy ridge has a hot wire which is a 3 pin with a floater in housing. Iq also has a pro hunter which is the same concept. I think the option sight is the closest to what you're looking for. You can also get multiple sights that have 2 or 3 indicator needles. So you can see where 3 pins are at when you slide.

The option sight is likely what you’ll enjoy most. You can keep the housing closed and still move the sliding pin. I’ve had multiple for quite a while now.
