I also despise the marketing. I also oppose the notion that they generally put out good quality. They (or maybe just Aaron) certainly will tell you over and over how good they are. I'll admit I've never bought a full gunwerks build, but I've bought a few things, and won't buy anything ever again. The best thing I bought from gunwerks was the sling, that actually works well.
Magnus stock -
bought it, took 6 months longer than promised. Okay it happens. It was supposed to be inletted for defiance and Hawkins Hunter DBM. Took major gunsmithing to get either to fit. Also it feels incredibly cheap, it's hollow, no fill at all, and the foreend is the same way. Their excuse is it's wasted weight, but they really just lost their foam supplier.
Bipod -
what a joke the first release was. I finally got the Gen 2. Worked okay at the range, nothing to write home about, less stable than an Atlas, although a little lighter. I never even took it on a hunt, and sold it (on here). Guy I sold it to took it out and the legs wouldn't stay locked open, crap material where the detent clicks in. I never had the issue, but like I said, I never even took it on a hunt. Thankfully, they sent him a new one.
Six Plus Suppressor -
Blew apart with under 200 rounds. Sent it back, they issued the recall the following week. I should have demanded a refund, but I didn't think they'd keep it (shards of metal) for over 6 months. Bought a TBAC in the meantime.
The six plus is not all that light when you add the muzzle device, and the sound suppression is just okay. Then, about a year later, I get another email that they had a second recall. I sent it back and they "tested" it and said it was okay. I've only used it on a 22ARC since then.
$20 sling -
Works great!
It also annoys the hell out of me how anti mils he is. He said on one podcast that people only use mils because they measure their dick in centimeters so it sounds longer. Does he really think you have to use metric to use mils? If you prefer MOA, be my guest, but why die on that hill and make statements that make it seem like you don't know what you're talking about?
Welp, typed way too much, but haven't seen quality in the things I've tried.
