Who has been in on a double?

My first trip ever to Colorado resulted in a double, I dont have the pictures on my phone to post. The day before we shot them we had found a bunch of fresh sign in a canyon behind a hayfield so we made the plan of hiking in very early the next morning and setting up an ambush. My first shot connected and dropped a small 5x5 in his tracks at about 280 yards then he tried to get back to his feet and I put another one in him and he was done. While I was firing my second shot one of the old timers I was with dropped a small 4x3 at a little over 400 yards. 30 seconds, two bulls and a experience I will never forget!

My first elk was the first 1/2 of a double. I arrowed a 6x6 at 8 feet and while taking pictures of it a bull bugled close by. We sneaked in and my buddy ran an arrow through another 6x6 at 30 yards. Less than two hours into the first day I ever elk hunted...

My buddy and I got a sort of double on archery elk in 2018. He shot a cow and an hour and a half later I got a bull that had been bugling when he shot his cow. His cow was about 4 miles from the truck and my bull ended up about 5 miles from the truck. It took us 3 hours to find my bull so we started working on him late in the night and hadn't touched the cow. End of the day, we got them both cut up and 1 load of meat back to camp 3 miles from the truck 24 hours after we had gotten up. Slept til noon and got back after it moving meat until about midnight. My wife came to the meat us at the truck after our first load out that day so we had 3 of us to move meat after that.

I do hope that it isn't a theme year after year but we'll deal with the workload if thats the way it goes. Ironically my brother and I killed a double on caribou August 15th last year and then my buddy and I did the elk double Sept 15th. The caribou turned into a 24 hour day as well.
