I have two seasons with the Sitka Fanatic pack, and I'll give it a B+ for my whitetail needs. Sure is quiet. Grabs burrs big time. Like the many pockets. The cut-out shape of the main compartment opening is nice in theory but stuff sometimes wants to exit quicker than I'd like as a result. The straps across the back I sometimes use for my bow, but they are really too short and I am still not sold on the way the straps attach (quiet, but sometimes quite fiddly).
When the real cold comes (I hunt WI/MN) it does not hold nearly enough of my extra layers, and I can look like a walking yard sale with all the stuff hanging off the pack. (I walk with minimal layers, starting cold, in order to avoid sweating, and then layer up at the stand.)
For that reason, I am about to build my own pack for later-season whitetail hunts: fleece, high-capacity, low structure - basically a fleece haul bag with shoulder straps.
