Whitetail pack

I got a Stryker XL as “do it all” pack. Can put a dry bag in load sling if I’m out west. Cinches down well if I’m hunting home in Midwest. Bibs when it’s cold in the load sling, leaves plenty of room in bag for jacket, etc. Use it to haul stands in off season as well (that’s where the frame has paid for itself!)

I run an Exo, I use a 2000 series bag for white tail/daypack type stuff, and I've got a 5500 I switch out when the need arises. works great for strapping bulky cold weather clothes, sticks, etc on to the outside and has a good overall setup for ease of access and organization.

Good info on the new pack. I have a MR Sawtooth that I was getting enough use out of so I got the MR Mule bag to use for my whitetail/treestand pack. I got it right before the treehouse came out otherwise I probably would have been really tempted to get the treehouse. So far so good though. I got a “backpack organizer “ from Amazon to fit the mule bag so it makes up for not have all the little pockets

hill people gear Connor v2 has been my go to pack all season. Carries weight incredibly well, pretty compact overall, and laid out perfectly for my whitetail setup at least. I don’t think I’ll be switching away from this setup anytime soon

I currently have a MR Scapegoat 25 that I've used for the past 5 years. I like the size and organization but it's noisy. I have a Kifaru frame and use the Stryker for hauling stands but it's too much for in a tree.
Interested in the Sitka Too Bucket and sent them a few questions a couple weeks ago but haven't received an answer yet.
For those that use the Tool Bucket: Is there a stiffener in the back? Is it hydration compatible? I also like a simple belt but didn't see any loops where I could add my own.
I tried out the treehouse and like the layout but couldn't get it adjusted comfortable.
I saw somewhere that Kifaru is going to come out with some whitetail packs. Anybody else heard that? I plan to call them after the holidays to see if I can get any info.

I have two seasons with the Sitka Fanatic pack, and I'll give it a B+ for my whitetail needs. Sure is quiet. Grabs burrs big time. Like the many pockets. The cut-out shape of the main compartment opening is nice in theory but stuff sometimes wants to exit quicker than I'd like as a result. The straps across the back I sometimes use for my bow, but they are really too short and I am still not sold on the way the straps attach (quiet, but sometimes quite fiddly).

When the real cold comes (I hunt WI/MN) it does not hold nearly enough of my extra layers, and I can look like a walking yard sale with all the stuff hanging off the pack. (I walk with minimal layers, starting cold, in order to avoid sweating, and then layer up at the stand.)

For that reason, I am about to build my own pack for later-season whitetail hunts: fleece, high-capacity, low structure - basically a fleece haul bag with shoulder straps.

I've gone through a ton of packs and just got the new tethrd fas pack and it may nw the best bowhunting pack I've found. Had a shapecharge before it and loved it but it was a little big in the main compartment and just big overall for most hunts.

The pocket design on the fas is about as perfect as you can get for easy access to everything and they add a ton of extra capacity to make up for the smaller main compartment. It carries my LWCG 0.5 very comfortably.
