Which would you do?

Probably Desert Ram. Already have a Dall and RM Bighorn. I would actually take any Sheep hunt I could. Still have the dream for a "slam"but money will probably stop me . Two of four unguided as a resident isn't bad though. I will keep going on any Sheep hunt I can and buying lottery tickets ... someone has to win them ,right.

Hard to beat hunting above tree line, glassing for miles and all day stalks. It would be Dall for me. Much better eating too at least in my experience.

I’ve hunted all four species and I’d definitely go for a Dall over a Desert, even though my Desert Sheep hunt in California was my most enjoyable sheep hunt. The problem with Mexico sheep hunts is many of them are high fence hunts and I just have no interest in that. Dalls are a great hunt and I think a Yukon or NWT hunt over Alaska due to better weather and a more enjoyable environment.

I’d love to take one more Dall hunt in the Yukon but not sure I ever will since I have 3 Dalls. A bighorn hunt is more likely since I’ve been playing the points game nearly 30 years.

Def go for a Dall in Yukon or NWT. Experience the north wilderness at least once if you can!
I have an AK Dall and a very gray BC Stone.
FR Desert soon. Been trying to draw and shoot a RBS for 30 years.
I hope you can pull off one sheep hunt! Don’t overlook the possibility for a short notice cancellation hunt at a reduced price.

Not that I want to create my own competition or anything, but the home of the great white ram has no equal. Dall sheep country is specular, if you are into things like mountains, rivers, glaciers, and stuff like that.

I could go on for a bit, but I think you get the idea...

Scottf270, I would recommend that you hunt any ram that you can or able. Probably your best value is still a barbary sheep/aoudad in West Texas - extremely similar to a desert bighorn sheep hunt and 1/5 the price.

You know my story: 5 days of hunting desert bighorn sheep in Arizona and a ram down, 3 days of hunting barbary sheep in Texas and a ram down, 20 days of hunting dall sheep in Alaska (2 different hunts) and NEVER loaded or even fired a shot at a legal dall ram. Nothing is getting easier or cheaper on any of the sheep hunts.

My blue sheep/bahral hunt in the Himalayan mountains of Nepal begins in mid-October 2026. 13,000 feet + altitude. Neal and Brownlee is the outfitter. I will let you know how that hunt goes. Getting close and the training continues…I have been very lucky, grateful, and blessed!

Good luck 🍀 in your decisions and happy hunting to all, TheGrayRider a.k.a Tom.
