Which tent would you take....

If you were going on a solo 7 day mountain hunt in say August, September or October, would you take a Hubba Hubba 2 man for more room and having the ability to bring your pack and gear inside......OR would you opt for the smaller and lighter Hubba 1 man and leave gear in the vestibule.

It all depends on your preference, I’ve done it both ways, I’ve packed the solo tent to save space and kept everything in the vestibule and I’ve also packed the 2 man and enjoyed having a bit of extra space.

I run with a 2P. For me weight is insignificant for the extra room of the two man. On the side, my brothers-in-law was born in Kelowna, lives in Calgary now days. Good luck with your decision.

Take the two man without the body and just fly, stakes, poles and footprint for more room at the one man weight appx.

I have a nemo Losi 3p, would take that. A one person tent for a week is little more than roof over a sleeping bag. A 2p would leave some wiggle room.

My thought involves bad weather and which you would rather hang out in for a long period of time. ESP in August there is a good chance for some weather.

I would go for the 2 person

two person, the difference in weight is negligible, the difference in comfort is very measurable

AND if you have a significant other, you can then use it to take her backpacking

If I only owned one tent for myself it would be a two man. I use a one man for hiking in and camping when I am just stopping and sleeping/up, eat and gone back to vehicle and home.....or if I am car camping and have a small floorless 'hang out' shelter set up.
On a side note, I have a new msr elixir 1 for sale....$125 tyd. It is a little heavier but made from solid materials. Comes with footprint and can be set up fly only. Red/white.
