Decided to go with a duplex frame/dry bag/ cargo panel set up. Whats the ins n outs of aluminum vs composite stays and 24 vs 26 lifters. Think im going w the 26" for more lifter function, im 5 7, and composite as my back has a normal "athletic" profile, plus who wouldnt want the lighter option? ..... so, Any help or advice before i drop some coin?

I'm 5'8 and have the 24 inch frame and it fits me pretty well. I didn't want the pack sticking up too far above my head. I also have the aluminum stays incase I needed to tweak them and it was cheaper. But you may not mind the pack riding high with the 26 inch stays. I have no problem getting lift with the 24 inch. But I've only carried about 50 pounds so far. I've only had it for about a month now.

You'll want the lift for loads and in the worst case with stays you pull the composite stays and replace with aluminum ones and sell the composite stays. Two inches higher pack height won't catch much more but if you don't get lift when you need it you've defeated the purpose of buying a specialized heavy load carrying pack. Go 26" stays and try the composite stays. I haven't asked Kifaru but I bet they would exchange the stays in the first 30 days if they don't fit you well.

Btw , you would have to have a very short torso for the frame to extend above your head. A stuffed bag and lid will but the stay height has nothing to do with that.
If you have your wife or friend measure your torso and then call Kifaru they can get you set up right. Part of the high price you pay for Kifaru gear is for phenomenal service. There are several videos on how to measure your torso so Google it.

I agree with Shrek, go with the 26" stays. You can always adjust them down if you are getting "too much lift." I have a pic of my dad posted around here somewhere with a 26" frame duplex on and a 7K cubic inch highcamp bag on it. He is only 5'0 (yes 60" tall) and the frame itself is no where near above his head. Yes the stuffed packbag stuck up above his head but that would have been the case with the 24" frame as well. Had he just had day hunt gear in there neither the packbag or the frame would have been above his head so I really see no real reason to go with a 24" frame if my dad of small stature can use it without issue.

I'm 6'2"+ and I feel like the 26" fits me like a glove. That's not to say you should go 24" but just as a reference. I'd definitely go composite for the stays

I'm 6'0 and have the Duplex in 26" and the Late Season in 24". I prefer the lift of the 26" over the 24" every time I load it heavy and work out. I'd go 26" w/aluminum stays for the extra lift and ability to bend stays for a perfect fit if necessary.

Best advice is to call Aron. He'll take care of you.

Thank you everybody! Between the responses and a few youtube videos im finally confident I know im gonna buy the right pack/options. GoIn composite/26" duplex frame . According to their method i have just beyond a regular curve. Be swapping for aluminum if they dont fit right with 80lbs of sand.
