Looking at the holiday sales, I might give onyx a try.

So, a little hunting, hiking, camping, outdoor driving adventures.

Would the hunting version cover all that?

I’ve had the hunting version (lowest cost version) for years. Tried the off-road for a week and found the gps and tracking data to be way off. It did have some stuff I liked but can’t remember now. Anyway the only thing it doesn’t do well is track stats for fitness purposes, not that it’s intended for that but if you’re wondering you’ll want something specific for that stuff

Hunting version is what I've also used for years.

I tried the new Backcountry when they offered a 60% BF discount and immediately canceled. It wasn't what I wanted.

Not a big operational difference between Hunt and Offroad. The Offroad is easier to filter for motorized trails and by vehicle type. The Offroad does offer snow-specific travel needs, such as Avy conditions. Waypoints/Markers are the most significant difference between the two.

Backcountry is closer to Off-road and has little value unless you are a backcountry skier.
