Which Muzzleloader to Buy?

Interesting… doesn’t the red dot start to take up a lot of the animal/target at long distances?

1 or 2 moa dots aren’t bad. Especially when keeping shots within 250ish yards. Anything beyond that and non-smokeless muzzle loaders start to peeder out. If your shooting .45 with a stout load of bh209 or smokeless maybe you can push to 325y as a theoretical maximum. Once these big bullets slow down wind drift starts to be a major factor.

Yeah I would be trying to push a light 200 ish grain bullet fast to hopefully reduce the drop. I used to be able to use normal scopes in my state but now you’re forced to 1x scopes or iron sights. Trying to maximize my accuracy/distance with the new 1x rule

What bullet do you use? I’d like to shoot light weight bullets so I’m considering a 45 cal muzzy instead of a 50

I'm shooting TC shockwaves. 200 grain.
I am not sure they are in production at the moment. I purchased a bulk lot once I heard TC was going out of business.

Hornedy makes a similar bullet in 200 grain, TSS I think. It's said the shockwave is made by Hornady. Should be able to find online. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I know Hornady makes a 200 grain 40 cal bullet with a 45 cal sabbot but didn’t k ow if you found a 50 cal sabot that worked with 40 cal bullets

Edit: harvester sells 50 cal abbots for 40 cals bullets. That may be the ticket
