It's not a big problem with scopes that top out at a relatively low power; just shoot at max magnification. Or if your scope tops out at 16x you can shoot at 8x and each wind hashmark will be double the stated value.What do people normally do for wind with SFP scopes?
You can absolutely use the forceplex reticle for wind holds - check the reticle subtension dimensions and the best you'll be able to do is to use the edges of the thin center section as a wind hold, and maybe do a half-distance. In the case of the SHV forceplex reticle that would leave you with the edge of the thin part as a 2.5moa wind hold (based on NF's published subtensions) and you could split that for a ~1.25moa wind hold.
Will it be precise? No. Would I rather have that, than have the MOAR reticle that you can't see at all in the dark without turning on the illumination? Yes.
Like you, I don't shoot in a lot of wind. I do, however, shoot a lot of stuff near dark when I need to see my reticle, and I don't like trusting electronic illumination.
