Hey guys I have a pair of Cabelas Meindles and the bottom sole is kinda separating from the bottom of the boot leather. I have never used any kind of shoe glue before which brand/model would you recommend? I definitely don't wanna buy some cheap junky stuff so if there is a good quality product please let me know thanks!

Shoo Goo. It is available in clear or black, and is permanent. I think Kenetrek even sells it under the name of Freesole, and recommends it for their boots. I carry a tube when I go on my hunts, just in case.

** edited after reading following posts *** I am probably incorrect about Shoo Goo and Free Sole being the same product. I have used both, and ASS U ME d they were the same, sorry. They sure are similar though.

Aqua Seal SR (Shoe Repair) is better than Shoo Goo in my limited use...repairing some trail runners, the rand on my Meindl Hunters and mocassin soles. I don't think they are the same stuff?? Shoo Goo comes in a much larger tube for the same price. I get the Aqua Seal SR at Cabelas.

Note, I edited this to reflect the present name of the product....was FS for Free Sole, now is called SR for Shoe Repair...name changed on the tube between my first and second tube of it. Sorry for the confusion

When I glued the toe cap and front of the sole on the trail runners I cleaned them very well with soapy water and a brush. Next I got a bunch of rubber bands of the right lengths to compress and hold things after the glue was applied. It came out good and is still working 4-5 months later. That said, I wouldn't glue a sole on a boot at home and go on a week long backpack trip with it. Just not worth the risk.

And I am not anti- Shoo Goo as I've used it for years before I discovered Aqua Seal SR. LaCrosse boots, neoprene hip boots, Muck Boots, etc have all been repaired with it. I even use it on finger tips of gloves that start to wear through. That technique has kept a pair of KUIU guide gloves going two years after they were "worn out" in the finger tips from stalking in the rocks.

Edited to reflect new name of Aqua Seal, now is SR versus previous FS

If they are "cabela's by meindel" they should have the lifetime warranty. As long as you didnt use them other than as intended...they should be covered.

My brother sent a pair of cabelas in for sole issues and they replaced with new. They were about 10 year old boots. All he paid was $15 to ship the old ones in for inspection....
