Has anyone tried both and if so which one do you prefer? Stone Glacier or Marsupial? Swaro 10x42 SLC's.

I've tried both and currently still have a Marsupial (non-magnetic). If the SG had a little more structure to it I'd like it better, I don't like having to fight the pouch collapsing to get binos and/or RF back in their home.

I had this problem with the SG when I started using it. At some point during the season it stopped being and issue. I guess there is a break in period? At least for mine.
OP you cannot go wrong with either. I'd say the SG is a little louder and more weather resistant. Marsupial quieter.

I've had both. Really liked the stone glacier, it was just a tad too small for my 12x50el...only reason I sold it.

The marsupials are a great pouch too. The large fits my el like a glove. I also use a small on maven b1.2 and Zeiss conquest. They do hold a lot of water if you use one in the rain...found that out this fall in Alaska.

I was also suprised how loud it got yesterday morning when it was -1 out....but even my puffy jacket got crunchy..

I have both. They are starkly different bino harnesses.

The Marsupial has more features and is heavier, 14 oz. It has a zippered pocket and padded straps.

The SG is 9 oz and more minimalist. No zippered pocket. The straps are the 1" webbing.

I like both, but for warm weather where I might only be wearing a single shirt I take the Marsupial just for the padded straps; the SG rubs my neck raw. I could remedy with a mock turtle neck style shirt. If I were going on a backpack later season hunt I'd take the SG for the weight savings knowing I'll always have a heavier hooded shirt or jacket on.

I have had both. I liked the bino pouch especially for my smaller binos on the SG but as was said earlier the straps on the SG was a deal breaker for me and I got rid of it. Very uncomfortable. I just wish the marsupial gear was a bit smaller for my 8x32s. Fits the 10x42 great.

I've also narrowed it down to probably one of these 2 brands. I'm liking the minimalist/low profile concept of the SG, but don't like hearing about the straps rubbing. Is that something that can be remedied by properly adjusting the straps? Anyone have more insight on this or your take between Marsupial and SG??

Anyone knowledgeable on the fabrics utilized on both the enclosed Marsupial and the SG?

I see the "3-layer HydraShield™ Waterproof Laminate" is being sold as proprietary by SG, but the materials seem identical to me. Same/similar stuff on the Muley Freak bow string protector I would guess.

Is the Marsupial 'waterproof'?

Marsupial for sure… marsupial is my favorite one on the market, SG was my least favorite… I had high hopes for SG, they make great gear, but they missed on the bino harness imo, I gave mine away

I tried both last season for my SLC 10x42. Ended up keeping the Marsupial. SG is for minimalist guys. Marsupial is for guys that want flexibility to add pockets, structure, padding, etc.

As others have said the lack of structure was an issue for me on the SG. I also switched out the buckles for auto lock so it didn’t pull loose.

I had stayed away from the marsupial in the past due to the magnet. I had issues with my OR harness messing with my phone compass. When they came out with the non-magnet version it was a no brainer.

Just ordered the Marsupial scope case. If I like it I’ll probably get the Case for Binos too. I like that they’re made in the USA.
