Which arrow would you shoot?

im guessing you are shooting the dangerous game fmjs??? I want more foc. If i want to get to 650 grains i will probably shoot the Alaska bowhunting supply Grizzstixs... I may make up a few different batches and see which one shoots better

Here is an option for you to consider. A GT APG Hunter in 75/95 cut to 28.5" with 100gr brass insert, 150 gr broadhead, Unibushing adapter w/ G nock, 3 Blazers. This will be right at 600 grains total weight. Not quite 650 gr but it'd definitely give you some high FOC and be pretty reasonable on price compared to the Grizzly Sticks. Another good thing about these inserts is that you can add additional weight to them. So if you have a 100 gr broadhead you really like you could make up the extra weight by adding to the insert.

It would tune just fine. Perfect example is Cam's new 90#. You punch the numbers for the arrows we made into any archery program and they all come up way weak yet that bow was shooting bullet holes in 4 shots and grouping great. 4 of us shot that same bow and arrow and all of us had the same clean hole through paper. You can't always just go off of numbers.

Yep...how'd the Psychic Friends Network lose you? Shootin' 250s.

When you say Cam are you talking about Cam hanes?? Is he still shooting the fmj deep six? I saw on one of his videos the other day he was shooting those.. I was wondering what broadhead he was shooting with those deep 6 arrows..

Yes. He's been shooting the Injexion FMJ 400s for the last couple of years. He's been using the Muzzy Trocar D6 heads this year.

For his 90# Faktor he's shooting FMJ DG 300s.

Im trying to decide between the faktor and the cs for my new bow. I am kinda leaning to the faktor bc i think they will shoot the exact same except one is carbon.. I dont know if its worth an extra 300$+ to me.. I will probably order one soon so that i can start practicing with it..

Agreed. The CS is an awesome bow but there is no performance gains. Just a little weight savings and coolness factor. The Faktor Turbo is a great shooting bow as is the 30. Cant go wrong with either one.

Just throwing this out there to keep things in perspective in relation to spine. When shooting the FMJ's they react a little stiffer than an all carbon when it comes to dynamic spine.

Due to weight gpi gain?

That and from my testing they react stiffer dynamically. Probably due to the carbon/aluminum and its recovery rate when the force is applied to it at the shot.

For instance I had a guy come to me just before a hunt having issues with his 70# Omen at a 29" draw. He was using 400 spine FMJ's and the biggest reason for his issues. With that said, I was able to tune those 400's to within 1" of fieldpoints out to 40 yards with fixed blade heads. Now, it did take quite awhile adjusting here and there. With that same bow all carbon 400's would not even come close with that same bow and not a huge difference in grains per inch in the shaft. Since then I have seen this to be true with other and some of my own set ups as well. Last year, with a Motive 6 I owned I could tune the FMJ 340's at 29/70 and that is a 350 IBO bow. That same bow all carbons I could not get the 340's to tune at all to my liking.

Shane, I have a Spyder Turbo 70/29.5 with Axis 300s. I had to turn the bow down 2 cranks to get it to BH tune. I want to run 150 grain heads so I am planning on Gold Tip 200s. Thoughts?

What was your raw shaft length ? I will plug some of those 200's in this evening and get back with you. Been running those programs for quite some time and no what I usually can get away with, even when they are on the weak side.

hey on target.. will you plug my numbers in for those gold tip 200s??

28 inch draw length. 28 inch arrow.. 75 grain HIT brass inserts.. will that show you what bh weight and stuff should tune??
