The 35 Sambar is quickly becoming a favorite cartridge of mine. I use a 225gr Accubond and CFE223 with necked up Norma 300WSM brass. It's fairly flat shooting and packs a wallop.

I rebarreled a crappy shooting MRC1999 in 300WSM three years ago when Iowa changed the caliber requirements for deer. The rifle cloverleafs the NABs and I've taken it accurately out to 800+ yards. So far I've hammered two whitetail and I'm eager to test on elk or anything else.

My bespoke forum name is my favorite cartridge hands down from whitetails to muleys to elk. If hunting and not shooting, 400 yards is plenty of range with more if needed. The 200 TTSX is woefully more than adequate out to those ranges and leaves no doubt to the outcome, from any angle. Fwiw, 340 yards is one and done for elk...

I have a couple boxes of 200 gr TTSX to try in the 35 Sambar, good to know they hammer. My very first loads with CFE223 and 225 Accubonds shot so well I never changed a thing, including charge weight. I have 15 rounds left and those will easily get me through Iowa gun season, then I'll test the 200gr TTSX.

Go home with the one that brought you. 👍

225 Accubond's, especially if the newer powders (velocity wise) work as well with them as the 225 Sierra, is a dead animal waiting to happen. Power Pro Varmint gives me 3030 fps with the 200 TTSX and safe case head expansion measurements. 2940 fps with IMR 4064 was the the best load I worked up before some of the new data/powder. For nostalgia, that stays as the hunting load, 90 fps makes no matter when the .736" expanded diameter (Original Barnes X, no TTSX recovered) Whelen AI sings her song.
