Thanks for the input. It appears that the consensus is the anywhere along the Bitterroot Valley. 
I live outside of Houston so I’m looking for a place to get away from the city. Can be near a city, but I’d rather sit on my porch or near a fire on my own place than be in town.
I own a business in Houston that affords me the flexibility to work remotely for extended periods, but still requires my presence much of the year. I also have a 7yr old so I don’t plan on moving in the foreseeable future.
I don’t need the property to have all of the utilities I listed, but would like to be able to have them installed within my budget. Since I will not be driving to town daily or requiring winter access I am open to more rural property to stay on budget.
