Where does the dog go in your truck?

Mine go in the insulated dog box in the pickup bed. They love it once they realize it takes em exciting places…

I've always let my dog just roam free in the car (excursion or crew cab pickup) and generally he has his head out the window at speeds under about 40 mph. I have recently started kenneling him though, and it is SO nice. Especially if he is muddy and/or wet!! He has a house kennel and is trained to use it so it wasn't hard to get him used to the car kennel.

A dog should really be kenneled in a truck, for their protection, a camper shell on the back and even a minor accident is a bad place for them.


I don't listen to my own advice, mine rides shotgun pretty much all the time.

No kids, so no space issue.

I use a harness for mine attached to an anchor point or a seatbelt buckle. If you get in a bad accident it would really suck if they were untethered, just sayin

Killers ride in the cab regardless of species.

That being said if I had high impact resistant crates that were safer for them, I would put them in the crates in the bed.

The pups normally ride in their crates (Gunner) in the back of the truck under the camper shell. If it's stupid cold, they ride in the back seat after the hunt.

Man, haven't you guys ever seen how people can get ejected from vehicles or bash their heads in bad car crashes with no seatbelt? Exact same thing can happen to your pup seatbelt/anchor point harnesses are cheap and take 10 seconds to put on/remove

Got a 6 hole dog trailer for them, sick of the dog hair and chewed up seat buckles. If someone else has dogs on the trip, there’s 3 ruff tuffs under the topper.

Dogs should be kennel safest place . We’ve seen some nasty post wreck patients.. dogs flung out of cars ..
Broken backs .. hip luxations… sad they get taken out in their prime by a preventable injury .
