Where do you carry your pistol?

I would like to see if anyone has a creative option for pistol location while backpack hunting. I have tried several different over the counter options and have not yet found anything that is right for me. I've started modifying my bino harness and looking for ideas. Just curious what other are doing.

This thing is coming from Amazon tonight. I missed taking a shot at a bear last archery season because I spent too much time thinking about if I should shoot with my 10mm in the hood of my pack. I am interested to see how it rides on my hip belt.

My pistol rides between my frame and waistbelt. I’ve been carrying there for the past few years with no issue. I have an MR guide light frame.

On my hip and tied down since 1970. Also carries knives, spare ammo, gps and sometimes radio. I offset the pistol with a pouch on the left side with extra batteries, first aid, pchord and various items.

This is the way. Covered, yet accessible. Small bino pouch out front is perfect for 8x32s. Plenty of room in the secondary pouch for extra stuff.

Belt holster. I don't want more weight on my bino harness (44 mag revolver) and I want it with me ALL the time (breaking down an animal). I have a MR pack and the holster rides just below the pack belt.

This thing is legit for a kifaru pack. If you have one it is worth the twenty bucks to try it out.

I just use an Uncle Mikes on my backpack hip belt cavalry style butt forward offhand and never gets in the way and easy to access. I use a Rick Young bino harness and as a bowhunter I don't like anything bulky hanging on my front.

RTI optimal drop. It puts it just low enough to clear pack belt but not so low it’s difficult to draw/flops around. You can take holster on/off in 2 seconds without taking anything off your belt.

I carry on my hip belt of backpack. If you want some sort of chest holster check out the one from blackpoint tactical.

My G20, normally on my left hip. But sometimes on my pack waist belt......left side. Been carrying it this way for over 10 years. Most the time I forget I'm even carrying it.

I take a little different approach. Binos on the pack belt, pistol in a Kenai chest holster with my range finder attached.

Worked, and I love the Kenai.

I havent hunted with it yet, but I've shot my bow with it and messed around with it at the house

I'm running an FHF Bino harness and bought the incorporated Razco holster for my 1911. Great system in my opinion. It feels very streamlined, but the gun is still very quickly accessible if needed.

This seems to work well for me. Just switched this year off a holster on the hip belt of my pack - wanted a way to keep the pistol on me if I dropped my pack.
