The bases hang over the ejection port. The lug is a shit roll pin with two miles of slop in the fit.
As far as I can tell both are because the design of the Tikka. Tikka put the hole in the receiver in that spot and they made it the egg shape. As far as a roll pin... Those work great and are inexpensive

There's room on the bottom of the ring to put a lug that would sit in that egg shaped hole.

With the bases attached to the action the only way the scope can move is forward and back. Forward is expected with recoil so they put the roll pin in there. Backwards would take slamming the scope into something which could happen I guess. I've never seen an egg shaped roll pin and you have to remember these are like $50. As far as a torx screw... That would be an easy fix but we are dealing with the British, have you seen their cars haha

I can confirm the T048s are back in stock at Tawnado as of today (8/6/22)
Thanks for the heads up, just ordered another set in case I get another tikka. I have sportsmatch rings on both of mine.

Anybody know if these fit on the t1x?

I ordered a set of to48s thinking I’d ordered to84s. They have not arrived but I have no use for them when they do. If you’re interested PM me.
Ah I see I assumed it was a typo and you were referring to84s. I also am looking for 84s good luck in your search

Yeah I got excited when that guy posted they were in stock. I jumped on and ordered them and when I got the notification I saw they were 1”. I have the 30mm ones on both my tikkas and love them.

Nice. I got the dnz mount currently on mine but figured I'd get a set just to see the difference as I'm about to swap scopes.

When the to84 shows up I’ll order a set or 2. I ordered a set several months ago and I’m glad I did. I had them on standby for when my tikka 30-06 finally got ordered and delivered.

So I ordered on the 6th, and they were processed in at the Chicago International Service Center on the 11th, which is where they currently sit, if tracking can be believed. I did some Googling, and it appears Chicago is the absolute worst international shipping hub in the system with long waits being the norm: https://www.uspsoig.gov/document/is...ations-–-chicago-international-service-center.

It looks like I may be in for a long wait. I hope you guys in other regions are getting yours quicker than it appears we will in the Midwest.
