I’ve got a bunch of older and sometimes terrible meals that I’ll hang onto for the apocalypse.

But for the coming hunting season - Who’s the go to today with great quality and fair pricing? October elk hunt in Rockies.

I’m not solely loyal to one brand because there’s some amazing meals out there now and I only do a hot meal for dinner each night so I’m down to ball out a bit. I’ll share my top 5 favorites and a couple honorable mentions. In no particular order:

-Creamy Tuscan Chicken Penne (Pinnacle foods)
-Jalapeño Chedar Biscuits and Gravy (Pinnacle)
-Shepherd’s Pie (Gastro Gnome)
-Mushroom Ragu Farfalle (Gastro Gnome)
-Beef Stroganoff (Peak Refuel)

Honorable mentions that I would happily pack any day:

-Biscuits & Gravy (Peak & Gastro)
-Herb Roasted Chicken and dumps (Pinnacle)
-Venison Country Casserole (Peak)
-Chicken Alfredo (Gastro)
-Thai Green Curry (Gastro)

I’m going to try some Farm to Summit and stowaway gourmet meals in the future so stay tuned on those.

I also put freeze dried broccoli in some of my meals (ones it would make sense to add to) for some greens while out there, I find after a handful of days in the field my body craves fruits and veggies.

Thanks - I’ll check these out. I typically order much more than I need, last a few years, then try to figure out what’s changed.
