My dad got lucky and won one of the super hunts for mule deer and we want to get started in 55 in August. I was just curious when do the bucks approximatly begin to tip out in southern Idaho. I would asume it's earlier then in AZ which is in mid September.
I'm always up for suggestions for this once in a lifetimes hunt for this unit and others (PM please) and I can hook you up with some info for AZ.

Congrats to all the tag holders! Good luck!

I've seen bone in August and velvet in September.....

I'd think that in 55 there would likely be velvet horned bucks till the first week in September.

Last week in august to first week in September in the south hills (used to live there and scout quite a bit that time of year). If I drew the super tag I would probably lean towards 52A/45 though...although there are super genetics all throughout those areas. A lot of good bucks get on or behind the private in 55.
