for hunting specifically - i got a Cabelas Alaskan Guide - Buck 193 as a high school graduation gift years ago. the guy that gave it to me actually tried to buy it back when we used it on the first hunting trip. its been awesome since day one, strong, sharp and a really good size

Argali as mentioned has been a great get. Little more pricy but both their skinner and serac been go to for me across last few years

2 3/4 inch blade little over six inches total length.
Small enough to fit easily inside, and big enough to field dress, skin, and quarter up a deer. Hopefully a couple this season.
This can also be an everyday carry for me as well.

After this recommendation I grabbed one of these. Very obvious that they make the Argali Carbon after getting the Skinner in my hand. Thanks for the recommendation! Can’t wait to try skinning with it.

For the gutting I use a havalon and an outdoor edge saw. They are cheap and easy to replace blades, but it's also nice in between deer I can sanitize them without worrying about any negative side effects. For my skinning I use a Winkler Blue Ridge hunter, cant say enough good things about it.

I mainly use my MKC Whitetail in buckskin. But also carry their Stoned Goat and Speed Goat. But the whitetail is my favorite, as I gave one to my four other cousins I hunt with.

I'm torn between the Stone Goat and Speed Goat. I like the "looks" of the stoned goat more. To me it looks like a more traditional blade but I could see the Speed Goat having more function. Would be primarily a pack or belt knife for field processing/skinning and would also be my packable out west fixed blade. Looking to get any thoughts you may have. Also- left side question: would you ever consider running with one with their upgraded clip just on running shorts? or are they too big. Thanks
