What's your standby Whitetail hunting knife?

I dont see much love for Case knives on this thread. I've had a case XX changer since my teens. I dont think they make them anymore tho

I have tried replaceable blades like havalon and outdoor edge, but put them up when I finally got a good fixed blade. I’ve got a MKC jackstone and whitetail that I alternate, can’t decide which is my favorite of the two.

Argali carbon is my favorite so far. Still have a Benchmade Steep Canyon that works fine, too. I like a narrow blade like the Argali for field dressing. Something with a fatter belly is nice for skinning, but the Argali does well.

I am always surprised I don't see the Buck 722 Spitfire on lists like this. I got one from a sales rep as a corporate gift type thing one time. I didn't think much about it until I realized I didn't have my normal knife and used it to skin a deer one night. It performed great. Now its always in the field with me for field dressing.
I also use a handmade skinner from a local guy that was our scoutmaster growing up. I don't like risking loosing that one in the woods so I keep in the truck and use it when I get back to the skinning shed.

Argali is made by White River Knives and they now have a really handy skinner pattern… really feels good in hand

Nothing fancy, just an Outdoor Edge that I just keep sharpening with a cheap sharpener because I’m cheap. LOL It’s gutted around 80 whitetails now on the same blade. I have had to pull out a new blade a couple of times when cleaning more than 4 at a time though. Might not have to do that with a better quality knife.View attachment 901783
These things are money! I always carry a field knife with a heavier spine and this to clean with. Gets dull, pop on a new blade

For 19 years I used a schrade old timer sharpfinger for field dressing deer. Now I no longer field dress them and instead quarter them and pack them out. I use an argali carbon and an iron will k2.

I used to carry various 3.5" +/- long folders however a couple years ago I started using my CRKT minimalist Bowie neck knife to gut the deer and I love it. I wear a safety neck knife whitetail hunting in case I needed to cut myself out of a harness or saddle while in a tree. Keeping a knife around my neck might make it more accessible if I partially fell or was inverted and hung up. I like a small sharp knife with a good grip to gut deer. The blade is a little over 2" long. It is great for unzipping the belly, I just put my pointer finger on the tip to keep it from getting into the guts and unzip the belly in seconds. It is also great inside the body cavity as the blade is the perfect length not to cut what you don't want cut (especially your hands) when you are elbows deep in the body cavity and have to feel your way around. The grip is excellent and has 3 strong finger reliefs and your pinky can wrap around the chord fob so no matter how wet and slippery it gets in there the knife is not coming out of your hands. The high carbon ss blade holds an edge and is easy to resharpen.

I use a Buck 110 and an Outdoor Edge Razor Pro.
Years ago my trusty Buck 119 was the knife that always went with me to the woods but it ended up seeming a bit overkill for deer. For quite a few years, now, my Buck 102 has become my choice for general tasks and field-dressing, along with my Buck Omni Hunter 10-Point knife for skinning duties.
What knife is your first choice for the Whitetail woods?

I mainly use my MKC Whitetail in buckskin. But also carry their Stoned Goat and Speed Goat. But the whitetail is my favorite, as I gave one to my four other cousins I hunt with.
