What’s your rifle weigh?

My new lightest one in the quiver. Kimber Adirondack in .308, with brake and Leupold 3-9x33 ultralight. 5lbs. 8.9 oz.

Before I rebarrelled the Adirondack from a 708 to a 243 it had a 2.5x ultralight and was under 5 1/2 lbs. Killed my biggest buck with it. Made it a 243 to keep my dad out in the woods.

Rifle came back from JES the other day, had the barrel punched to 338-06 and chopped at 21 inches. Hands down the lightest rifle I’ve owned. Just ordered some 205gr Shock Hammers from Hammer bullets to load up.

I have a Montana in 338 federal but I have been tempted to get an 84L to build a 338-06 out of it.

6.5RPM is the next project on an 84L

I came across an old thread from Luke Moffatt with his 338-06 Montana and just had to do the same. I looked for a 338 Fed for a while before finding a cheap 30-06 and ended up money ahead even after the rebore. Something about a sub 6 pound midbore that makes me smile.

Tikka superlite 7mm rem mag w/Swarovski Z3 3-9 comes in right at 7lbs 12oz.

Tikka stainless Lite .338 win mag w/Nightforce SHV 3-10 comes in at 8lbs 7oz.

Both have B&C stocks, aftermarket bottom metal and fluted bolts.

Kimber Hunter 280 AI, Vortex Razor LHT 3-15x42, Talley Low Rings.
The only modification done was removing 8.5oz of gel from the stock and grip.

This thread got me curious so I weighed these.

Just hunt with a bow anymore so I carry these to cover others so-to-speak.

Remington Kevlar stocked mountain rifle from the early 90's, in .338 Winchester.

And a limited build Ruger Alaskan, laminate stock, left hand, and thankfully no brake, in .375 Ruger. New old stock.

It's due for a Leopold VX5 1-5.

Now to get my wife's scale back to the kitchen.

Just got a ridgeline .300wsm, is it worth it to update stock to reduce further weight?

If you are stand hunting nope...otherwise it’s a person preference. Shoot it, you may like the stock better and shoot it better with the additional ozs. Last thing no need for a lighter stock if your sporting a 19 oz scope.

Carried a Tikka t3 stainless lite in 270wsm for many years, decent rifle, added a brake and limbsaver decent weight for the caliber. Like a rifle thats handy but at the same time in a caliber thats manageable.

Built a 6.5 CM in a tikka T3. 16.75 Inch mountain rifle contour barrel.

7.2# with Sig 6-24 Scope. nice little package

Have a mid-weight Sako 85 Black Bear in .30-06 with a Swaro Z3 3X9 on it, great shooter. Thought I'd try something lighter for a change (getting older, lol). Bought a Barrett Fieldcraft in 6.5 CM last month, and had a Swaro Z5 2.4-12 BT with Talley medium light-weight ring/mounts put on it. Feels great (weight, balance). Haven't taken it out to the club for a try yet. Can't wait!

Been looking at ways to lighten my load. My current rifle is a rem 700 sendero in 300wm, weighing in at about 12lbs unloaded. Tossing around the idea of a new rifle, mainly only considering a tikka or savage in their respective lightweight models. But if there are other options under $1k I’m all ears.
Most of mine are6-6.5lbs not scoped, always puts me in under 8lbs all up which is my target wt. Most built off 700 actions or mod 70s,. Edge stock, #2 or #1 barrels. Works for me.

This year’s white tail rifle.

Rebarrel to a 270 from 3006. I had never shot a 270 Winchester and the cheaper option was a re-barrel. $100 for a new take mt contour $100 for the re-barrel. Voilà 270 Winchester!!! Three boxes of Norma 120gr ammo For $19 free each plus free shipping from midway ready for 2020 Big Game season!

I estimate the weight to be 6lbs and 6ozs as it sits.

Shots # 5,6 and 7 below the wind was 5-8 right to left...gusting a bit higher ...... Scoped with a B&C 3.5-10x40

Kept the 3006 barrel just in case tho........🤔

Seekins Havak Element in 28 Nosler. Rifle alone weighs 5.7 lbs and that's with two QD mounts, a sling swivel stud, detachable magazine, an impressively stiff stock, and a fairly heavy contour on the barrel. With real rings, a Leupold Mark 5 scope, and a suppressor it's just 8.7 lbs. Pretty amazing for the price. 20200907_080332.jpg

Seekins Havok with seeking rings, 4-24 VX6 and 419 Hellfire Break. 9.2

My rifle at about 12lb total weight but after carrying my brother's Tikka that felt like it was half the weight I've been thinking about either putting mind on a diet or building a new one.

Curious how you got the weight so high on the Tikka SL? I thought they came in at 6lb 1oz and the swaro at 12oz? Do you have any other mods? I'm looking at a SL myself and am trying to spec it out accurately before I drop the coin.
