What's your Luxury Elk Hunting item?

I'm a simple guy, my luxury elk hunting item is A&W root beer. But I don't think that helps in your case.

I've been pondering that....Looking at the Vortex Fury HD 5000. They have 15% off right now, so that'd put them at $850.

Only hangup is I just bought a set of Vortex Vipers last fall. LOL

Wait till Monday and it combines with cmmsave10 for an extra 10% off.

So after pondering....I think I'm going to upgrade my optics.

Vortex Razor 10x42 (w/ Pro Tripod Adapter) and upgrade to a Vortex Viper Rangefinder from my 5 year old Vortex Crossfire model.

Will be able to get the 15% vortex discount and I'll wait to order on Monday and stack another 10-15% for club member discount. Saving around $350-400 on the whole ordeal.

Still not top of the line. But after years of hunting with $150 glass, I think I'll feel like it will be worth the investment.

Looks like you've made a decision. I have a few Vortex items, but do not plan to purchase more. Knowing I'll likely be using their warranty sites not install confidence.

In your situation, I would be willing to consider tossing in a $300-$400 to what you have and the 10% discount and consider looking at the Swaro EL pretty hard as an upgrade.

Not sure I'd pull the trigger, but it would be an option for me.

If an elk hunter doesn’t have this that should be the number one priority. A rock solid place to regroup warm and dry.

A travel shampoo bottle with cooking oil and a ziplock sandwich sack with red pepper and Head Country seasoning for grouse. Depending on the hunt, every once in a while I may take a mini fishing pole and use the oil and seasoning on trout as well.

I see OP has made his decision. Reading through, I was gonna suggest booking a hunt or fishing trip through WTA. Use the points towards the price of the trip.

Back to the subject, hot food and a comfortable camp chair. I'm pretty simple.

That's fair. Although having the points at Bass Pro/Cabelas does limit my options.

I actually pivoted on Monday. I upgraded my tent to a Kodiak 10' x 10' canvas hot tent instead of the Razor binos, and then upgraded my Rangefinder to the Vortex Viper. Going to hold off on the Bino upgrade for now.

Certainly not a luxury item as you suggest. But free upgrades......

Regarding Vortex: Some people piss on them, and that's fine. I've never had issues with them with their cheaper lines and as a guy who is typically limited to one elk trip a year and the rest of the season I'm whitetail hunting with my boys. Dropping more than $1k on binos doesn't fit my narrative just yet. When I book that Alaska or Yukon hunt in a few years, I'll pair that with a major bino upgrade!
