Second is a Montana Rifle Company X2 in 7mm08 barrel chopped back to 22. Wears a Swaro AV 3-10x42 scope in Talley LW rings.Shoots Federal Premium 140 BTs.

I use my dad’s Interarms Mark X in .30-06 with 150 gr. Remington Cor-Lokts.. it’s all I need for whitetails in the northeast. Only think I’ve done is put it in a cheap hogue stock (to save the wood stock) and put a timney trigger on it
Cool, I got this 308 Mark X from my Dad. I just put a Timney in it and been playing around with it some. I may hunt it someday.

when the buckeyes allowed a straight wall, i got a marlin 45-70.
it has been a go to ever since.
i live in a shotgun zone in Arkansas and this year am allowed to use a straight wall shell, to the marlin will get the call.
I’d have made the same choice. Ditch the shotgun. Rifles in my experience are more accurate and easier on the shoulder. That’s why I built a 350Legend AR just in case Minnesota one day allows straight walls in the shotgun zone.

I initially when with a 444 marlin in
Ohio. Hunted 3 years with it. But I wanted a bolt action set up like my other hunting rifles so I picked up
a Winchester xpr 350legend. Works really good. Not a swiss watch quality rifle but for the money its been good. I like it more every year.

I alternate between two, my old faithful Remington 700 270 Win or my rifle handed down to me from my dad a Browning X-Bolt 270 win. Both rifles really like 140 grain Hornady Interlock bullets and I have had great success on whitetails and hogs with this round.

Seems like whatever I bring the opposite situation arises. Only time I've ever taken a 243 out I shot a buck at 275ish yards. Last year I used a 300 wm and shot 1 at 30 and 1 at 10. Maybe I'll drop down to an 06 this year and I'll get a shot around 50

Winchester Deer Season 150 gr. So far I have killed two large bucks and one doe all basically DRT at 180-190 yards one shot into each. All three out of the same stand. All standing in about the same place. I was somewhat disappointed that the bullets we retrieved all came apart in the deer but they killed every one of them. I didn't have to go looking for them. In my opinion 180-190 yards with that rifle is stretching it out for both me and the rifle. But that is what it was.

I loaded up those 130s for my wife’s 308. I believe I was able to get the MV to 3150fps with good accuracy. She hasn’t shot anything with it yet.
That is good to know!
Im not sure I’ll achieve those speeds, as I have a 20” barrel.
I’ve had some groups at around 3/4”, but I’m trying to find some consistency, and that’s probably got a lot more to do with the shooter than the loads….

For whitetails, locally I use one of my plethora of 308s. Typically I’ve been using my lightweight storm because it’s 7.4lbs, short, and pretty resilient, but this year I’m thinking about using my dd5 again. In urban zones or Iowa I have a 450bm.

My goto has been a Winchester Model 70 XTR Featherweight 30-06 with a factory installed McMillan stock. But a recent VA diagnosed shoulder injury has me going to a Howa Superlite 7-08 if it shoots well. I love that Featherweight, but I'm trying to preserve my support side shoulder.

I believe my wife’s ruger American has a 22” barrel. So you may be able to get close. She shoots 1.5-2” group at 100yds with this load. I can get it down to .75”-1”.

What rifle you running in 6.5x55? 6.5 Swede is a cartridge that’s always intrigued me.
